Swann MaxRanger4K Solar 4K Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor, 2-Camera Kit

Amazed at how well I can see at night. Easy to install and I have little to no computer skills.

I had mine almost 2 years come find out the other day. The hard drive quit working and I came back earlier today. The box quit working so I changed the plug out and it’s fine so if your box quit working, check your power cord. This is a good security cameras! I always like swann cameras I got a eight cameras in my house

Picture is very respectable both night and day. Audio is usable. Range has been ~250' line of sight thru forest & 350' through very sparse trees positioned slightly out of line of sight. Was really hoping for at least 400' range through trees. Advertised backup battery with Hub but none provided. Sent first one back for missing parts and the second one was sent without too. Still better than running wires. Might be more preferable for deserts and open range land. Updating to one star from three after using for a summer. Cameras mostly fail to recognize people and vehicles. Can drive past at various distances (10 to 50 ft) from any direction and get no activation. Same with walking past or even right up to the camera. Buyer beware. Not a good product.

The Swann MaxRanger4K Solar Wireless system is likely the best WIFI security system available for larger or rural environments. The video quality is wonderful. I have no trouble placing and operating cameras well over 500 feet from the hub without direct line of site due to trees. Their stated 30-foot detection range is way too conservative. Increasing and tuning the PIR and AI sensitivity is a snap, and I regularly pick up vehicles and people near 100 feet (plus or minus) from my cameras with almost no false alarms. The documentation is not all inclusive, but when I have emailed technical support with questions, the responses have been outstanding, including follow ups to ensure complete resolution. Finally, due to my own placement requirements a couple of the cameras are only receiving partial afternoon sun; thus their charges were slowly declining. For $30 each I added Swann SWIFI-SOLAR5 auxiliary solar panels and now all are fully charged by dusk every day. I’m expecting no issues at all with short, snowy winter days. The only thing which keeps this Swann package from being five star is comparison to other, more expensive, top-of-the-line systems which can automatically activate adjacent cameras when motion is detected by one camera, and Swann’s limited control over suppression of notifications during busier times of the day. BUT! None of these other systems operate at the range of the Swann. I highly recommend the MaxRanger4K for large or rural properties when long-range WIFI coverage is needed .

This is a great Security System. I was surprise with the east of setup! Once you run your cables and hook everything up, Just turn it on and it basically works! The short wizard at setup is all you have to do to get your system working. I highly recommend this unit. I am please with the night view, and i absolutely love the built in LED lights on each camera! When the light is activated you can actually see the the colors of what the camera is seeing, unlike the black and greys that show when in the night vision mode. If you buy it you will be glad you did!

I have one at home and got one for a friend who owns a business. The system was quite easy to install, works great. Customer support is iffy though they try. The 1st support agent kept me on the phone for too long until he did find the answer. The 2nd support agent got it wrong regarding firmware. Regarding this, the 2 agents gave me conflicting answers. Still a recommend.

It is a good device with many useful features, the interface simple enough. I dislike that not only is it incompatible with other brand cameras, this is I knew before purchase, what I think is ridiculous is that this fancy, hi-tech, human detect recorder only works with a FEW SWANN cameras! Half of which are not available and the other half cruelly expensive. Going to have to discard it.

Distance 2,000 - That's a lie, unfortunately. In less than one thousand, the camera signal disappears. Although the signal shows there are still two sticks out of five. I mean, that's a lie, too. And that real range is in very good weather and line of sight. There is no interference at all in the path of the signal. The solar charging in the camera is very bad. For a whole day in direct sun, the charge lasts for half an hour at most. That is, in bad weather, and at night, the camera should be connected to electricity.

Originally I had a NightOwl system, I liked it, but it got old and the HDD died, I tried to change it and it would not work and their customer service would not help. So I bout a new NightOwl system, and it was dead right out of the box, weeks of back and forth with their awful customer service and they finally sent me another head unit, it came in a smashed box, there was no padding to protect the unit, and it didn't work. They refused to help me, so I thought I would try Swann... I wish I had gone with them from day 1 as their system works better, looks nice and their app actually functions perfectly! It was cheaper, with more cameras and the receiver has more USB ports than the NightOwl did. The cameras have built in lights I can turn on remotely, which is nice. The only downside is a minor one, they are fiddly to aim as they use a tiny #1 Philips screw to lock the angles instead of a twist knob or collar, but for the other benefits I can cope!

This DVR works as expected

Bought this as a replacement for my old unit that died. Work fine out of the box.
