I'd buy again.
Inkbird products are great! So is this wireless pool temperature monitor. I own 10 Inkbird wifi temp controllers & loggers. Reliable & built well. Local display in pool is nice too. Easy to set up within couple minutes. Gasket looks to keep water out. Wish it had wifi.

Fails Like Others of this Type
This is the second of this type of pool/spa temperature monitor with remote display that I have tried. This one lasted a few months, then the spa temperature on the remote display stopped showing. The temperature is still shown on the sensor that's in the spa, but not remotely. It's only about 10 yards away, through a window. I wanted it to work so badly, but it seems the fate of these $20 to $40 sensor/remote displays is the same - they fail by some means within a year. Don't waste your money thinking your experience will be any different. They often pop up on Amazon, sell for a few months, the ratings drop as people provide feedback on the failing devices and they remove that product and then market it under a new name. The cycle repeats. I have now found a Yolink sensor that uses a hub for transmitting data, and the temperature can be read on your phone. Not exactly what I wanted, but the reliability seems to be good and I can get the information I want. Cost for the Yolink system is a bit more at about $60 but it doesn't seem to be just throwing your money away.

Perfect - finally (!!!) all white and easy to open and works super well! Great thermometer!
I’ve bought this item three times over the years and this version is the best!!!! First it is white finally! Yay! Not that awful fake pool blue color. Thank you for making it white! Also, it is way easier to open and works much better than the older versions. And, it tells the pool temperature and outside temperature on the display in the pool and the pool temperature and inside temperature on the display inside. The connectivity of outside thermometer to inside is perfect! Thank you! We love this product.

You need to dry out pool thermometer when it becomes flaky
Works great till it doesn’t. Remote display is great for checking pool water temps while you’re inside the house. Range sees kinda short. When the thermometer gets flaky and stops communicating with the display you need to dry it out. Condensation builds up inside the pool thermometer. Even if it looks dry inside the battery compartment. Condensation builds up in the electronics. You need to take it out of the pool. Open it up. And let it dry out for a few days. I need to do this several times during the pool season to keep this thermometer functioning properly. So far, I have not had any issues with the seals leaking pool water into the battery compartment.

Fixed issues
Excellent customer service. I purchased my product at the end of the season and didn’t use it until this season. I had an issue with my receiver, not working and even though I was outside the return window the customer service worked with me too quickly. Solve my problem and send me a replacement.

A smart, stylish upgrade for pools, spas, and more
If you've ever squinted at a faded pool thermometer or fished it out just to check the temp, Inkbird’s wireless floating thermometer is the fix. With accurate digital readings, indoor/outdoor syncing, and a sleek white design, this smart little gadget modernizes water temperature monitoring without overcomplicating things. --- Design and Build Quality Inkbird took a welcome design turn with this latest version. Gone is the dated "pool blue" color, replaced with a much cleaner, more modern white finish. The unit feels well-built and still sleek, despite being slightly larger than expected. It looks good whether floating in a pool, spa, or even pond, and the digital readout on the top is large and easy to see. Unlike traditional thermometers that fade from chlorine and UV, this one is made to last. --- Setup and Connectivity Setup is refreshingly simple. Just pop in two AAA batteries in both the floating unit and the base station, toggle Fahrenheit or Celsius, and you’re good to go. The pairing between the floating unit and indoor display works flawlessly, and the data syncs quickly. Once it's in the water, you’ll see both the water temperature and the indoor reading displayed clearly on both ends. --- Performance and Features Functionally, it checks every box. The thermometer delivers accurate readings, with reliable comparisons against boiling water and other trusted devices. It displays both water and air temperature, depending on which unit you’re looking at. The digital display is a big upgrade from analog thermometers, and it’s readable from a distance. Over time, the battery life has proven consistent. After 3+ weeks of daily use, the performance remains solid. Compared to older models and cheaper alternatives, this version is a standout in both accuracy and usability. --- Final Verdict Whether you're monitoring a backyard pool, a koi pond, a hot tub, or even considering it for aquarium use, the Inkbird wireless floating thermometer is a well-designed, no-nonsense solution. Its clean look, dependable connection, and easy-to-read display make it a smart buy for anyone who wants quick, reliable water temperature readings without ever dipping a toe in. --- Pros: Accurate digital temperature readings Displays both indoor and outdoor temps Stylish white design (no more “fake pool blue”) Easy battery setup and long-lasting performance Strong wireless connectivity Cons: Slightly larger than expected for aquarium/sump use No rechargeable battery option --- Bottom Line: A reliable and attractive smart thermometer that delivers exactly what pool and spa owners need with accuracy, convenience, and a modern look.

Wish they lasted more than 2 years. But works great until it doesn't.
Have had a few of these... When they're new, they just work. After about a year and a half (pool is open year round) it stops transmitting or the plastic around the screen seperates or leaks. Or it gets in around the antenna... And then they're dead in the water. Thankfully relatively inexpensive and the vendor did replace one that failed within the first year. But they seem to be made to last 1.5x their warranty time which.... Given the current climate for disposable things isn't terrible I guess.

Won’t last
Every season it dies. I tried keeping fresh batteries in it all year. No good. I tried removing batteries. No good. After 1 season all it does is display gibberish and kills battery in a week. Nice unit if it actually lasted.
