It seems to be a well made gaming board. I think it is a good value for the money. It is compact enough that I think it will travel well with us.

This backgammon set is beautifully made and far better than any of the online versions we tried. The board is attractive, the felt playing surface is smooth, the pieces are substantial, and everything stores neatly in the case. It looks and feels like a quality game. Now, about my playing ability... I know the very basics of backgammon, but my wife has elevated the game to an art form. She seems to take great delight in sending my checkers to the bar—and not for a drink. I'm also fairly certain she invents a few new rules whenever she's behind, although I have yet to find proof. Regardless of who is "interpreting" the rules, we've had a wonderful time playing together. That's really what matters. This set has gotten us away from the computer, laughing at each other's moves, and enjoying an evening together. If you're looking for a quality backgammon set that looks great and encourages some friendly competition (and perhaps a little good-natured trash talking), I highly recommend this one. Five stars from the loser... at least according to my wife. From one shopper to another... I hope this helps.

Well made, beautifully crafted and easy to transport game. My hubs and I have been taking our game with us to the coffehouse and it transports easily as the board closes like a small briefcase with easy to use clasps. It unfolds and is easily set up for hours of fun and play. I will say that if you haven't played backgammon before to be careful as it is very addicting.

This is a beautiful set. I chose the black & grey one as a gift for my grandson who is heading off to college. This will last a lifetime. Worth every penny.

The rules of backgammon are simple and straightforward. Two beginners can learn together in 15 minutes and have fun for a lifetime. Perfect blend of strategy and probability of the dice. This is a handsome, gift worthy set.

I ordered this as we are a family that enjoys a game of an evening, and I rather fancied a proper backgammon set to add to the cupboard alongside our cards. I chose the turquoise, a lovely fresh colour, and it is a handsome thing, it comes in a smart case covered in a faux leather that does up with little clasps and a carry handle, so the whole lot folds away neatly and could be popped in a bag to take to a friend's. It arrived in a nice box. I had a look over it when it arrived and there were the 32 playing pieces, 16 turquoise and 16 navy, nice and chunky and a good weight in the hand, along with 6 little dice, the doubling cube, and 2 leather dice cups with a velvet pouch to keep the dice in. The clasps feel secure, and the board lies nice and flat when it is opened out, with the points in turquoise and navy on a soft base that the pieces slide about on easily. We have had a few games on it now and it has been thoroughly enjoyed, there is something rather satisfying about rattling the dice in those little cups. A practical touch is that everything packs back into its own compartments afterwards so nothing rolls off and goes missing. Overall, a handsome backgammon set in a gorgeous colour, that is well-made and nicely finished. I would say it is good value for a backgammon set of this high quality. It would make a super present for anyone fond of a classic game.

I've long wanted a briefcase style Backgammon set but have been reluctant to spend too much for one. I saw this one and decided that I could afford the price. The set arrived packed in a good quality box. I unpacked and inspected the set and am not disappointed. The hinges and latches could have been more robust but the game case opens properly and sits flat. The game pieces are thinner than I expected but will work well. The die have rounded corners, large pips and roll nicely. The overall construction, assembly, and game board stitching appear to be good. The material quality seems to be good. The manufacturer included one extra game piece and one extra die of each color - a nice bonus. Overall this seems to be an excellent value for the price.
