Must Manually Turn on Each Time
It works "fine" but after a power outage it doesn't come back on.. You have to physically click the little button to turn it back on. Mine is down with my server equipment, so It is a hassle to go back down to get it mounted. The quality seems fine, when it is up and running it does as advertised. I don't need high speeds since I use it as part of my nightly backup, but it seems to run fine once you turn it on, each and every time the power skips. For the price it is a great addition to any desktop. Push the hard dice in until it is seated, then it show up like any other external device, it's that easy to use.

Good for Backing up Synology BAS.
I use this to attach drives to backup my Synology NAS. Kind of cheaply constructed. But its light, inexpensive and so far works well with very large capacity drives.

Read this bEFORE you buy...
This Orico hard drive dock works as an external USB drive dock. BUT this dock has a native AUTO SLEEP function that prevents a DVR from waking up the drive in time to record on schedule. A reputable manufacturer would give users the ability to EASILY disable AUTO SLEEP but Orico said NO. After repeated prodding emails Orico finally offered a firmware update to disable AUTO SLEEP so they know about this problem. Instead of attaching the firmware update to an email or offering the download on their web site you have to go through a third party download web site obstacle course to download it and when you finally do it you find the firmware installation tool is Windows only so Mac users are SOL. REALLY... no support for Mac users to update firmware? If you intend to use this dock with Tablo or Silicon Dust Home Run DVRs or the like BEWARE and SHOP ELSEWHERE. My hard drive dock is in the trash. At only $20 is was a cheap lesson.
