It does exactly what it's advertised to do. Super easy to use and gets the job done.

This voltage tester it's worth every penny the first time you're prepared to cut a wire and find out it's hot. All you do misplaced the electrode on the wire and if it's hot it will squawk at you. You can even put it to an outlet and it will do the same thing. It couldn't be easier to use and batteries last for a very long time.

I'm an idiot. I've done DIY electrical work here and there for years, but I've always been paranoid around electricity. Is the power really off? How do I REALLY know for sure? My solution was always to shut down the entire house via the main breaker. Seemed like a reasonable solution, although very inconvenient for many reasons. But recent home renovations had me wanting to end that habit, so I found this gem. Life with electrical work will never be the same. What a fantastic invention, what a fantastic investment.
