There are no better plastic items other than “Rubbermaid” stuff. These are probably priced at 2 or 3 times more than other similar LOOKING, but not same quality. I bought 4 of these similar (except) deeper and they will last 20 years because of their sturdiness. BUY ONCE, CRY ONCE.

At first glance, it can be hard to understand why anyone would spend extra money on a utility tub. It seems like one of those products where plastic is plastic. Then you load one up and try to carry it. The biggest difference between this Rubbermaid tub and cheaper alternatives is rigidity. Lesser tubs tend to flex when carrying heavy loads, especially liquids. That flex can make them awkward to handle and increases the chances of sloshing, spilling, or generally making a mess. This one is much more robust. I use these regularly for kitchen projects, and they've proven incredibly useful. Whether I'm moving ingredients, transporting equipment, or cleaning up larger items, they handle the weight without feeling like they're about to fold in half. Some of my common uses include: * moving batches of ingredients during food prep * carrying meat grinder components and other equipment * washing items that don't fit comfortably in the sink * general kitchen organization and transport What I like: * rigid construction * handles heavy loads well * easy to carry when full * versatile around the kitchen * commercial-grade durability The ability to safely carry liquids is probably the biggest advantage. When a tub flexes excessively, even a small amount of movement can cause water or other liquids to slosh over the sides. The stiffer construction here makes the tub feel much more controlled when moving a full load. This is one of those products that doesn't seem exciting until you've used it for a while. Then you start realizing how often you reach for it and how much nicer it is than the flimsy versions. If you need a utility tub, do yourself a favor and buy a good one. The cost difference is small compared to the improvement in durability and usability. I've found these to be well worth the money and would happily buy more if I needed them.
