Dual Electronics DCPA81W 8" Wireless CarPlay & Android Single/Double DIN

I had bought a chinese Android radio and was pretty disappointed, this was worth every penny though. Wireless Android Auto works like a charm, the unit is very responsive and sounds very nice too it has everything you want and nothing you don't ..I like that the screen tilts, and can be adjusted up and down as well...makes it easier to fit into your car.

Is this going to rival a premium name brand...no. there are probably some other off-brand units that are better. However...it works and the ability to tilt the screen really works well for my vehicle(Superduty) and brings modern features to my 20yo truck. I only use it for android auto and the backup camera. The controls are goofy and the screen isn't very responsive but it's cheap and it's in a work truck so the bar is low. Sound quality is fair. For the money it gets the job done to add android auto to an older vehicle.

Worked great for a week then all buttons stopped working, rebooted every minute and screen was unresponsive to touch. not worth buying…..

Worked as a replacement to a motorhome Axxera Radio including turn and backup cameras. Has manual or automatic rear Camera to display switch on a trigger wire. Sounds Awesome. ALL features worked well and some aspects excellent. THE SOUND WAS SOLID and the panel was firm and secure.

I bought this unit because it offered flexible and robust options for viewing angle and height. It very well. I also bought it because of wireless Carplay and it connected fast and without any problem. However, I also bought the unit because I thought it was an Android app so that I could run Android apps, including YouTube, but it doesn't support this so I'm returning it.

Atoto flubbed the dub when they quit making their 8” F7 XE, but Dual Electronics has hit a home run by offering a similar size. This is a neat wireless CarPlay unit that supports both a front and rear camera, RDS radio, a screen that rotates and slides up and down 1.5”, and is $100 less than the Jensen Car813. I like the matte, rotary volume knob too. This fits in my GMT400 1996 suburban using the Metra single din dash kit. The screen sticks out 2.5” from the receiver, and while slightly obscuring the HVAC controls you can get your fingers to the AC controls and you can easily raise the screen If you want full control of the AC, then just lower the screen again. Thank you Dual!! But FYI to your marketing people please post the units physical dimensions on your website in the future. It unit measures 8.1” wide x 5.7” tall.

I've had it installed a week, and am really pleased with this stereo. Seamless wireless CarPlay integration, decent sound, a really nice 8 inch screen, and a volume knob. All for just over $200! Install was relatively easy - just get the right harnesses, connect the right wires, and you are good to go. You have to pay attention, but it is not that complicated or difficult. I would definitely recommend this.

So far, so good. I installed this in a single din of my 2000 Subaru Outback. I tried to use my GAIA navigation app, however, the map would not generate on the screen. Im still on the fence on whether this will function at 100% of expectations.
