I wouldn’t recommend this
My printer broke within a month.. i tried to get help from the company and you cant really speak to anyone.. so i wasted £50 for something that lasted a month.. 🤦🏻♀️ The printer dose t collaborate with an A4 sheet of paper either.. dont line up to the margines correctly.

Second phomemo
I've got two now! I've got a small phomemo label printer, and now I've got this larger thermal printer for A4 as well. I'm very happy with the performance with the small label printer, and I was very pleased with the ease of using the app. This bigger printer with a higher price tag is also at the same quality level, and I would expect no less for the outrageous price of £180, and it claims that is a discount right now down from £230, which I cannot possibly fathom pig for a brand you've never heard of. However, it really does live up to the hype. It works with all different software types however I've only tested it with an iPad and with my PC for Windows, it also works with my Android phone using the app, the same app coincidentally that I use for the small printer, and you just have to connect it. It claims to be compact inkless Bluetooth convenient and easy to use, and honestly it does take those boxes. It's way smaller than a large chunky desktop printer, it doesn't use ink because it uses thermal paper, and of course it has the Bluetooth. Convenience is fully subjective because it depends on whether or not you need something for commercial use, and if you have a team coming to service your printer, they're not going to mess around with this anything, but for personal use at home on your office desk or for your hobby business, this will work perfectly, because it is very user-friendly, and if it's only you that is using this, you can really tailor it for your specific needs. I do not like the fact that it is pink, but at least it's not outrageously ugly pink, and I can make do with the subtle tone on the plastic. The weight of the device is surprisingly high, it's a very heavy chunky thing that will require a desk, so I wouldn't be putting this on a shelf. It does double-sided printing if you need it to, and I do like the small pouch however a bigger pouchter where I can put some excess paper as well would have been better. The only downside is that it doesn't print very good on thicker paper, and the big chunky battery means you will struggle to take this through customs or flights because some have restrictions on the size of batteries that you can take. For me however this is not a problem, because it sits on the desk and lets me do my hobby prints whenever I want.

Good thermal transfer prints for text and line drawings, but information is lacking or misleading.
Good: compact, rechargeable, portable, multi-platform, can use thermal or plain paper, duplex printing, quite good print quality Bad: confusing information, no proper user manual, high running costs, no straight thermal option (doesn't work without cartridge) Summary Good: compact, rechargeable, portable, multi-platform, can use thermal or plain paper, duplex printing, quite good print quality (text and lines) Bad: confusing information, no proper user manual, high running costs, no straight thermal option (doesn't work without cartridge), monochrome only, struggles with tones, expensive consumables (thermal ribbon) I found getting to grips with this clever machine as frustrating as I did with the previous one with the tattoo packs. This because Phomemo either don't properly understand what they have, or they don't try hard enough to communicate it to users. This sloppiness is evident in the simple mistakes in their literature ( This compact A4 thermal printer from Phomemo is very similar in form to their more conventional M08F device, which I tried in tattoo version a while back. In that printer, shiny bold prints could be got by using special paper packs with carbon transfer sheets to provide the ink. Due to an almost complete lack of relevant information, and some misinformation, I was not expecting this P831 to be very different. But it is. It took me a while to realise that the same shiny prints are made via a carbon paper cartridge inside the machine, rather than by disposable full-sized carbon sheets fed in with the printing paper. The cartridge (thermal ribbon) has the paper fed between two rollers, and it can be removed and replaced easily after opening the top of the printer using the two spring buttons either side of the feed aperture. So far so good. But one exclusive cartridge is good for only forty-five A4 or letter sheets of paper. So, while it is true that no ink or toner is required to run the machine, the impression that running costs are negligible is false. A pack of two cartridges costs around £25. Another false impression is that there is a thermal paper option. You can print onto thermal paper if you want, but the process doesn't change. If the thermal ribbon cartridge is removed, paper can't be fed in. The paper guides are integral with the cartridge, so ribbon printing is the only mode available. (Perhaps the carbon paper could be removed from the cartridge once it is is exhausted and the printer used without the ribbon. I don't know. I might try it at some point. ) Whilst the Windows driver and app offer some control over image printing (dithering, lightness), this is black only, and reproducing photographs and shaded images is not its forte. I found getting to grips with this clever machine as frustrating as with the previous Phomemo printer, with the tattoo packs. This must be because Phomemo either don't properly understand what they have, or they don't try hard enough to communicate it to users. This sloppiness is evident in the simple mistakes in their literature ('protable', 'compacity' etc). The website is no more helpful. This printer can create usable text and line drawing prints, one at a time, on the go, at a cost. It can do it on plain paper, on both sides, using minimal desk space, from a PC or laptop (USB) or Android / iPhone, via Bluetooth, fairly reliably and quickly. It is nowhere near as versatile or universal as the marketing implies, but at £180, its unique qualities will make it the right choice for some. Good thermal transfer prints for text and line drawings, but information is lacking or misleading.

Ribbon glue itself to your print
Absolutely awful product. After only printing one thing, which didn’t even complete, the ribbon glued itself to the thing I was printing and have now had it all come out so can no longer unless I pay out more mo ey to print. I have 2 other printers of the same brand and never had a provlem

Clever portable mono printer
Phomemo offers an extensive and confusing range of thermal printers, with no easy way of comparing them and choosing one. I’ve certainly been impressed with the printers of theirs that I've tried though. They produce at least three A4 models. I’ll leave you to figure out the differences because they’re not obvious to me. Certainly, for anyone who travels and needs to print on the go, it’s hard to beat this one. It couldn’t really be smaller or lighter. And, since it’s rechargeable, you don’t even need to take a power cable with you. Bluetooth should mean you don’t need a comms cable either, although I haven’t been able to test that. You get a useful drawstring pouch in the box (I’m surprised it isn’t mentioned in the listing). They offer a semi-rigid zipped one separately for about £16 or as an upgrade to the printer at time of order for about £12. It probably makes a good investment. You wouldn’t want to use this for everyday printing, because thermal paper is expensive (around 10p/sheet). It’s quite hard to find, too. Ten sheets are in the box but you’ll soon need more. It has a different feel to plain paper but don’t confuse it with the cheap stuff used for till rolls– it’s much nicer than that and is said to resist fading. On the plus side, of course, the printer doesn’t need ink cartridges, so overall cost per page may be comparable with inkjet. Since it’s thermal, output is inevitably mono only, and with graphics that may not be up to the standard of those from laser or inkjet printers. It’s perfect, however, for printing estimates and quotes, invoices, letters, etc., when away from base for any reason. If that’s what you need, you're unlikely to do better than this printer from Phomemo.

Simple To Use
This little printer was surprisingly simple to use. It is very compact and easily fits into my laptop bag inside it's included drawstring pouch that holds the printer and the cables. The fact it can connect to your device via bluetooth is a nice little touch and does work well (although you do have to have Location Services turned on for it to connect). Normally I wouldn't think of printing from my phone but I downloaded the app and it was incredibly simple to print a document. I don't print much but there are occasions where I need to print a text document and it is a nuisance having to go into the office just to print. Now, I have the option to print at home. The first print I did is a little bit faint and I am not sure if that is down to the font chosen or the paper used (just some old A4 paper I found). You can set the paper size by opening the top of the unit and it allows you to select Letter, A4 or A5. This is the only bit that gives me pause, the unit is externally of plastic construction and I do worry that constantly opening and closing the top could weaken it - realistically I will only be printing on A4 so should only need to open it when the cartridge needs replacing. I don't think this would be suitable for printing anything other than text documents or the most basic of black and white line art. Because of the nature of thermal printing I don't think it could effectively greyscale an image to print out anything other than a blob of black (I didn't waste the thermal "ribbon" by trying an image print). Nice and compact solution to printing the occasional text based document.
