TL;DR: The Acer Nitro is a solid budget-friendly gaming laptop that balanced school and gaming well. Loud fans, weak battery gaming, and fragile screen were drawbacks, but it handled demanding games at high settings and was great for a student lifestyle who fancies gaming in free time. I used my Acer Nitro V 15 daily for both school and gaming, and for the price, it really impressed me with how versatile it was. Definitely felt like a purchase worth it. As a full time college student taking online classes, this laptop was more than enough for productivity. Typing was seamless for the many essays and assignments I had to crank out, and it handled regular browsing with multiple tabs without breaking a sweat. I don’t do heavy creative work like video editing, but for what I did use it for, it never let me down. Gaming was where it really surprised me. Titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us Part II ran great at high settings, delivering smooth, immersive gameplay that felt way beyond what I expected at this price point. Paired with an external 2K 144Hz monitor at times and it kept up without any issues. Portability was another big win. While it isn’t the lightest laptop out there, carrying it in a case made it easy to take from work to the library or just toss in my backpack. Honestly, I barely noticed the weight after a while. Of course, there are trade-offs. The fan noise is one to note. On auto, it can get loud under load, and on max, it’ll easily fill a quiet room. That said, cooling does its job, and with headphones it wasn’t a dealbreaker. The other thing: gaming unplugged was basically a no-go. Performance dropped heavily on battery, which surprised me at first, but since I always had access to an outlet, it didn’t really affect my routine. On light use like schoolwork or browsing, I’d get about 2–3 hours on battery. The display itself was fine, standard but enjoyable. Unfortunately, mine cracked after about a year from what felt like light pressure, which was disappointing and ultimately why I’m moving on to a new laptop. On the bright side, upgrading was a breeze. I swapped in 32GB of RAM and added a 2TB SSD, which gave me more headroom for multitasking and plenty of storage for my game library. That definitely added to the experience. Overall: The Acer Nitro V 15 delivered a great balance of school and gaming performance in a portable package. It’s not flawless, the fans get loud, battery gaming is basically impossible, and the screen durability left me wanting more, but for the time I used it, it played the games I wanted at high settings and fit perfectly into my student lifestyle. For the price, it’s a solid entry into gaming laptops.

Computer itself is really good and fast. The only thing that slows it down is MS Windows as you know. I have used windows from the start. I used Windows XP right up to 2020, when Internet Security protocols stopped their support, XP was the best, and Windows 7 was the last best. After Windows 7 MS windows went down hill. If Apple would have more user friendly programs, or Apps as they are called nowadays, a lot more people would be switching over. As well as the open software platforms such as Linux, etc. But MS pretty much had a monopoly on the OS being sold on new computer sales and that is how they got so big so fast, and why people did not have too much of a choice, and therefore got used to using the MS windows OS. As you probably know, all the trouble came from the windows updates, anything and everything that could go wrong came from the updates. That is why I was able to use my Windows XP until 2020, I never did updates. You are probably thinking then why am I buying this computer as MS now forces updates to go through on all newer computers with their OS on it, as they want to keep control of everything that you do now and want to know everything that you are searching for. Well I got so used to using windows. I like the interface interaction, and now I have to do a lot of manipulating to get the files and such working as older versions. But, once you do, it gets better. Of course I disable updates and Edge. So after a little tweaking this computer works well, although not like MS intended it to work. And one feature of all windows, which I think is the best, (MS will probably do something to it after I post this review) is the backwards compatibility feature. With this feature you can load an older version of Software or an old Game and it will work on the newer computer. As an example I am using Software Programs that are close to twenty years old and Games that are sixteen years old.

Before getting into how good it is as a gaming laptop, somethings to note here. -The heat exhaust directly hits the bottom of the screen, meaning exhaust goes out and up. And that's fine, haven't over heated at all. But this really requires you to lean the screen back. And unless you have it elevated, that's gonna be a lot of glare on the screen. Leaning the screen a little forward causes surprising heat build up. This isn't a new design, and other laptops have it built like this, but you should know about it before you buy this. -the stock 8gb ram speed is 5200 ddr5. No where on the sellers page does it state this, and I don't know why. But you really want another stick of ram, 8gb just isn't enough for most things now a days. -there is no mux switch for those that care. Surfing the web got me 3 hours of batter, I could barely get an hour gaming on battery. Be prepared to just have it plugged in all the time. -Getting this thing opened and unscrewed was horrendous. Never had so many problems with screws on a laptop before. Went through 5 or 6 Phillips screw drivers to find the right type. And then needed some pliers to get out the screw for the extra SSD slot. Have had several laptops and this was the toughest it's been. After all that, how's the actual laptop? Just fine. Stuck in more ram and a extra SSD and been just fine after a few weeks. The latest games work just fine, tried cyberpunk on high and did just fine. No overheating, no blue screen of death, no random restarts. But it really wants to be plugged in for gaming. This also isn't really something to carry around everywhere, the battery is to weak for that. Edit: After more than a month with the laptop, I think the rating is still fair, and I am happy with my purchase. Its not perfect, the battery is still terrible, it really should come with more ram, but its a decent machine. The one big problem I would add is that the newer triple A stuff causes the thing to turn into a jet engine. The thermals are surprisingly good despite this, and its a trade off with the massive amount of noise. But I put this more on recent games being horribly optimized than the machine. Sometimes the laptop makes minimal noise, surprising me that its so quite. Literally do not notice the fans when I am doing normal work. But modern games will drown you out with fan noise. Hope you got a decent pair of headphones.

Really good laptop, is able to play Peak and Roblux pretty seamlessly. The fans get loud but with proper lift, it’s totally fine. I really like it!

What can I say? For the price, you're getting a machine that can play modern AAA games at medium/low settings with ~60fps (tested Horizon Zero Dawn so far, steady 60 at low settings). Can easily run older games at high settings/high frames. Absolute beast for emulation on the go, only outclassed by the likes of the steam deck and rog ally in terms of portability. The specs are decent for an entry level budget laptop. The 4050 is an entry level gpu (especially for a laptop gpu), and so is the i5, but don't let that dissuade you, this laptop is plenty powerful for the price. The perk of having a 40 series gpu of course is dlss 3.0 and frame gen. The main issue of course is the storage and ram. Both easy upgrades. The motherboard supports two nvme drives (one being gen 4 and the other gen 3) and two ram slots. The first thing I did was upgrade my storage and ram (1tb gen 3 ssd and 32 gbs of ram, an extra ~150) which is necessary if you plan on playing modern games. Overall, a great little entry level machine that you will not be disappointed with. Definitely try to get on sale. EDIT: GPU crapped out on me not even a couple months later after purchase. Was experiencing blue screens constantly until one day the laptop started to refuse to recognize the gpu. Upon further research, this is a very common issue with this series of laptops from Acer. The RMA process is a pain, and they offer no local dropoff outside of their repair center in Texas. Hit or miss if you'll get a working product or a detective one, buyers beware. EDIT 2: They would not repair my laptop because of "water damage" (common term by first party entities, those who do not support right to repair - easy to dismiss in their TOA and other agreements you supply as a consumer). If you google this laptop, you'll see most failures are the GPU, and the customer cannot get it RMA'd because of "water damage" or other failures. The fact is these are mainly mainboard issues as the quality and production on these PCBs are terrible. I was sent a picture of the copper heatsink with oxidization as my reason for no repair. The failure rate of vital parts in this product is not worth the price tag. If you want an actual gaming laptop, please spend the money for vetted higher brand product. Last edit: Get an HP victus on sale. Dropped this thing three times and am finishing up Kingdom Come deliverance 2 with close to 144 frames with a 4070 laptop GPU and an AMD ryzen 7 for ~ 900 on sale from bestbuy.

Great Laptop! I use it for wfh and it’s perfect. I’m not a gamer so I can’t share that aspect.

The hardware specs on this are truly outstanding for the price. The screen looks great, keyboard and trackpad feel are nice, and it has enough ports and cooling to do everything well. My one complaint is that this came pre-loaded with gobs of bloatware. Not even kidding it had 4 different antivirus programs and 5 web browsers installed, along with a bunch of other Acer-specific garbage software that is useless. On first bootup the machine feels incredibly slow since all of this pre-installed software loads and pops up continuously, it feels unusable. After I spent a couple hours removing and uninstalling all of it, then getting all the Windows updates completed, it runs like a dream. Gaming is absolutely fantastic on this, at highest settings it still runs great. Just be prepared to invest the time removing the terrible software they attempt to force-feed you, and you’ll be happy.

Not a bad pc for the price I bought it at. Can play plenty of the games you’d want at decent fps. Batter life is awful tho.

Es una computadora eficiente en todos los aspectos, realmente no veo una limitante en cuanto a componentes debido a que hay slots para aumentar RAM y SSD. Los materiales se sienten de calidad, brillo máximo en pantalla un poco corto pero suficiente y de forma cotidiana el rendimiento de la batería en tareas básicas da un aproximado de 6 horas, mientras que con actividades en las que exiges a la gráfica (4050 realmente una joya por el costo de la PC misma) da un poco menos de tres horas. De manera general puedo recomendar ampliamente está PC, más sin embargo, para los más exigentes con un presupuesto limitado tendrán que considerar que 8 Gb de RAM se quedan cortos, por lo que si quieren un mejor rendimiento deberán desembolsar un poco más para comprar una por separado.

Es una joya de laptop, tiene muy buenos componentes para lo que vale, aparte de que tiene un slot extra para ram y otros 3 para memoria ssd. Es lo mejor que puedes encontrar en relación precio-calidad,pero eso si, para jugar si o si vas a tener que cambiar la RAM,porque de stock viene únicamente con 8 gb,por lo tanto,considera desembolsar más dinero para ponerle más RAM (de preferencia metele los 32 gb que permite la PC). Estoy muy feliz con mi compra😍

La adquirí por $14,500 *720usd aprox. Le faltó más proteccion a la caja de embalaje, su caja original todo Ok. El detalle viene desde planta, no hay inspección de calidad, ya que el Display se ve como apachurrado de una esquina, se ve verde. La oficina de recolección hacen perder mucho tiempo y la retención del $$ en el rembolso es muy larga, recomendaría NO comprarla. DHL la entregó desde el 13 de sept y aun no la marcan como devuelta.

Mi producto llegó defectuoso, no enciende la computadora
