Amazon Basics Mechanic's Socket Tool Set With Case, Metric Sizes, 145-Piece

I’ve owned tons of hand and automotive tools through the years and I’m really impressed with this kit . Let me also say that I bought this for a friend who owns zero tools, this was not for me. This is a great starter kit for someone who needs basic hand tools to occasionally remove nuts and bolts, whether at home or on a vehicle. It covers many situations, and for the price you can’t beat what you get. It’s portable, can be kept in a car trunk, on a garage shelf, in a closet, you name it. I like how it has not two, but four locking mechanisms. You have the two clasps on the front, and then two smaller clips on the side that hold it together. You will discover that 1-2 of the tools inside occasionally falls out of their pocket when opening or closing the case, but that’s common on all tool cases of this type. Overall it’s well organized, has plenty of sockets, and I strongly recommend this buy.

For the price, I have no complaints. There are a wide selection of tools for any job. Everything feels sturdy. Great for the trunk and for the garage. The case is very sturdy.

Great Tools, Durable & Reliable Minor Case Issue I’ve been using the Amazon Basics socket kit for a few months now, and it’s been a great addition to my toolbox. The tools themselves are solid, durable, and have come in handy for all kinds of jobs no complaints on performance. The only minor issue I’ve had is with the case. While it does its job, the way the sockets lock in place can be a bit annoying. Some are really tough to pop out, and others don’t stay in as securely as they should. But overall, for the price, this set is absolutely worth it. The tools are legit

I puchased this set a while back and used it for awhile before reviewing. This is a great set at a great price. Starting with the heavy duty case with metal clasps and an extra clasp on each side of the case. The tools are well made perform well.

I bought this in October of 2018. It's now June 2022. The two ratchets are fantastic. I've regularly applied WAY more torque to these removing fasteners WITH A CHEATER BAR working on my three cars and two dirt bikes than I would ever expect a hand tool to sustain. These are my every-day every-where tools, too. Very impressive. My other comments are about the case. It's decent. I have about half a dozen sockets that aren't held tight enough, so they fall loose. A majority of them are on the bottom, so to mitigate the issue, I painted "TOP" on the topside. Otherwise, sockets all over if I open it upside down. However, I accidentally crushed one corner of it with my car when pulling into the garage. It has obvious damage, but there was no functional loss. So I appreciate the case in that regard. Most of the things in the set without any moving parts are pretty standard issue, so they work as expected every time. No complaints about a rock being a rock, just like no complaints about the sockets and Allen-key wrenches. The handle attachment is comfortable and shaped well enough to have a good grip. And being able to insert the 1/4" drive of the handle is great. Overall, it's a very well done set. In 2018 I paid less than the current price, but at the current price today, I would still buy another one if I lost my set. Assuming it's the same manufacturer and materials.
