I bought this with the silicon grips. It feels very comfortable in my hand. It adjusts tension easily. It feels very solid and durable. It is very well made, with good strong materials, and functions smoothly. I have had other grip exercise devices that did not hold my interest due to discomfort, or limited capability. This is one I will be using for a long time, and as I get stronger it will continue to challenge me because I can keep raising the tension.I hesitated a lot before purchasing this because of the high price. After using it I have no regrets--it was money well spent.I bought this as a result of an arm injury. I came to the conclusion my mediocre grip strength was a possible contributor to my injury. Earlier in my recovery even the lowest setting on this device was too high for my injured hand. So that is something to consider. I used more remedial things like soft squeeze balls, etc. Even for my uninjured arm the lowest setting is one I like to use at times. I am an adult male in my late 60's and I work a lot with my hands. Even with daily physical work my grip strength was diminishing, and I was seeing the limiting effects of that in a variety of activities like tree pruning and construction. This device is helping to counteract that.Note: I use it both upright and upside down, as this varies angles at which my fingers are engaged.

Just unboxed this and tried it out, so this is an initial review.The quality of this gripper is phenomenal. Definitely a well made piece. Puts competitors to shame, which is fairly hard to do given the simplicity of what hand grippers are.1) it’s silent. I have several Captains of Crush grippers and they develop a squeak that can get annoying.2) Decent range of difficulty. This replaces the Captains of Crush Guide through the 1.5.3) Easily adjustable. I have other adjustable grippers with wider range, but they involve moving two heavy springs to random spots. Those spots aren’t indicated and usually require an internet search to determine what the resulting difficulty amounts to. But, they lack other adjustments....4) adjustable width. The gripper can be adjusted to hand size. My CoC grippers are just past the limit of comfort for my medium hands. This becomes an issue when progressing up a difficulty level. I find myself with a weird angle in my wrist. This leads to wrist pain that eventually starts to negatively affect my grip training and other exercises (think bicep curls). This is a HUGE improvement for me.5) In-line handles. Has a better feel AND helps prevent the angling of the wrist I mentioned.6) The handles themselves feel great. Plenty of texture for traction but the actual checkering isn’t sharp. New Captain of Crush grippers usually have a sharp texture that’s rough on hands until you break them in. I work in the medical field so keeping my hands relatively smooth is appreciated. Not to mention potentially compromising my skins integrity can put me at risk in said environment.This is a great gripper that replaces six $20 grippers if you use CoC grippers. The handles can also be adjusted down by removing set screws. This givens a little more leverage when working on going from one stage to the next.Definitely worth every penny at $50. If you’re big into grip training you owe it to yourself to try this gripper. Unless something changes this is replacing my beloved CoC grippers

I'm a person who is very active and does regular strength training in the gym, but I've never done too much focused forearm training. Over time I've noticed I was beginning to struggle on things like deadlifts because my grip was a limiting factor rather than my back or legs. Enter the GD Iron Grip!I wasn't quite sure how to quantify my grip strength and didn't want a collection of multiple grip trainers, so this adjustable model was very appealing to me. Right away I realized I might not be as strong as I thought! I could handle the lightest setting, but for multiple reps/sets it was a little challenging. After using it consistently a few days a week I progressed to the second setting and should soon be moving on to the third. Anyone who likes to train knows progressive overload is necessary and it will certainly be a long time before I outgrow the maximum resistance (if ever).This thing is really solidly built, cheap plastic bits. Switching the resistance is simple, requiring only a partial squeeze and a flick of the switch. You then align to the desired setting and relock the switch.The main downside is that the knurling on the handles is quite rough. If you have soft hands you will likely rough up your skin and possibly develop calluses over repeated use. If you're looking at this type of product that probably isn't a huge concern, but some people may not like that aspect.The jumps between settings also feel pretty big. When you move up you'll probably only be able to do a few reps, but with proper programming you can progress over time. Overall, I'm super happy with my purchase.

The best grippers I've ever used, by far.Solid build, excellent ergonomics, straightforward adjustments.The price is high, but justified.I started with a pair of the 90s, but found I didn't need the extension or the extra 22lbs. of resistance (I should have listened to other reviewers who said as much). These offer much more resistance at their 84lbs setting than a far cheaper adjustable plastic gripper at its supposed 80lbs., so bear that in mind if you're testing cheaper ones at a box store to determine the max resistance you need like I did. I did not test either to determine the accuracy of their given settings' poundage. Just know that these grippers are harder than one other new cheaper pair. Other reviewers write that they've had similar experiences. Finally, the lowest setting (55lbs) matches the resistance on my old gripper in the picture that's been well used for about 10 years.After a brief test, I returned the 90s thru Motofitusa & Amazon easily and only had to pay return shipping (around $6 FL to NY). I then got a pair of the the 80 Lights on prime day for nearly $10 off each, saving roughly $53 total.On both the 90 and 80 Light, the knurling is the same and ideal: small crosshatch size matches the exercise (for example, dumbbell knurling is a larger and deeper crosshatch and barbells sometimes are even larger and deeper than the dumbbell knurling). I had a much better grip on the 80s than my old plastic grippers, and it did not hurt my hands or damage my skin.Lastly, there is a good jump in resistance levels, but I plan to further break the 6 levels of resistance into 18 levels using the 3 levels of grip size. If I can't do the largest grip size at the next highest resistance level, I'll simply close the grip size to the smallest setting, simultaneously increasing the leverage of my grip and reducing the range of motion in order to complete the exercise. As strength grows, I'll increase the grip size to the medium level and finally the largest level, and then repeat for the next resistance level--pretty straightforward progressive strength training.Thanks again to Motofitusa for a stellar product.

This is a well-built piece of fitness gear that will likely last a lifetime. In that sense, it's a pleasure to own. On the advice of other reviewers, I bought the grip extensions, and I'm glad I did. You can effectively make smaller changes in resistance by sliding your hand up or down the grip, and the extensions give you more range of motion to do so. It might not be "necessary", but it makes a notable difference in real-world use. Worth the extra $20 or so.My only gripe is with the aggressive knurling on the handles. It's excessive to the point where I would call it a design flaw, which is why I've given it four (4) stars instead of five (5). That said, I'm overall pleased with the purchase and would buy it again.To solve the issue with the rough knurling, I purchased some Aventik X-Tube Heat Shrink Wrap Tubing for Fishing Rod Grips (1" diameter) for $6.99 (as of Aug 4, 2025), which I heat-shrunk over the grips (see photos). This has made a world of difference in terms of how comfortable the strength trainer is to use. I considered using electrical heat shrink tubing, but that typically has a lot of adhesive, and I thought it would make a sticky mess if it ever needed to be removed. Unless your hands are very calloused, you'll either need to wear gloves or wrap the grips to prevent discomfort.Note: This is a heavy piece of equipment (570 grams / 1lb, 4oz), so that's a consideration if you want to bring it on travels.

Hands down the best purchase I have made in a long time. This is very well made, durable, simple to use, and is outstanding. Zero noise like others I have used. This will get your hands and forearms pumped.

Amazing construction and build quality. All metal (tiny caveat, see below). Knurling feels too aggressive, feel like they should've gone with hill rather than mountain style knurling. Fixed with tennis racket grip tape. Very convenient adjustment mechanism. Just wish the increments were smaller.There are different versions out there, as they made several improvements over the years. But the descriptions weren't very clear. I know the product pictures illustrate the differences, but that isn't always the case because sometimes they'll show discrepancies like showing a 2022 version in one place and 2024 in another. And most of the reviewer pictures out there are using grip tape which covers up most of the handle, so I took two pics of my own and found another one on ebay illustrating the differences.As you can see in the pictures, the latest 2024 version is very clean all around, has no black exposed bolts on the handles like some of the videos or promotional pictures out there.As far as I can tell from looking at various images, the upgrades they made are2020 = exposed eclips on the end caps2022 = all metal end caps, but with exposed black bolt holes on the handle2024 version with extensions, both IG 80 and IG 90 = all metal end caps with no exposed bolt holes on handles, spring with a more rectangular cross section (feels slightly stiffer even at equal ratings)2024 IG 80 light = black plastic spring end cap, spring has circular cross sectionThe ~$50 IG 80 Light is all metal but with black plastic end caps on the springs, and the spring is rounder. The ~$75 IG 80 with handle extensions come is ALL metal with metal end caps, and uses a spring with a rectangular cross section. The 'squarer' spring on the GD80 feels slightly stiffer than the one on the GD80 light even at the same weight, though I haven't measured.

Von der Qualität des Produktes war ich sofort überzeugt, nachdem ich einige (in dem Fall: wörtliche :-) ) Handgriffe damit gemacht hatte - alles extrem robust, absolut geräuschlose Bewegung, kein Quietschen oder sonstiges.Auch die Einstellungen der Griffstärke über den oben angebrachten Riegel ist sehr leicht durchzuführen.Einige Rezensionen kritisieren die Rauhigkeit der Griffe - diese haben ein flaches, eingraviertes Fischgrätenmuster, natürlich aus Metall.Jetzt muss man sich aber mal ehrlich machen: Das Gerät ist dafür da, ganz spezifisch die GriffKRAFT der Hände zu trainieren - und nicht dazu, (wie ich :-) ) weiter "sanfte Büroarbeiterhände" zu haben oder irgendeine Art der kosmetischen Behandlung durchzuführen.Ja, das Gefühl ist anfangs minimal rauh und es kann beim Hochstellen der Schwierigkeit mal ganz leicht (leicht!) zwicken oder sich komisch anfühlen. Ganz ehrlich: Das ist zu erwarten. Viel schlimmer wäre es, wenn der Griff völlig glatt wäre und man (gerade am Anfang bzw. beim Hochstellen der Schwierigkeit) dauernd abrutschen oder falsch greifen (und somit falsche Bewegungen durchführen) würde.Das Gewicht des Gerätes ist relativ hoch, ich persönlich führe es seit einigen Tagen in der Hosenseitentasche oder im Rucksack mit, da man in Wartesituationen immer mal (geräuschlos) ein bisschen damit pressen kann.Insgesamt also ein Produkt, das wirklich alles erfüllt: Von Verpackung über Qualität bis hin zu den Produktbildern stimmt alles: 5 Sterne, solid Korean quality!

Honnêtement,j'avais un peu peur de mettre autant d'argent dans ce genre de gadget,seulement il n'a en rien l'air d'un gadget on voit bien qu'il est solide et fait pour durer!Je ne regrette rien. (a part mon égo qui prend un coup a bloquer sur les 64kg ^^)Je le recommande les yeux fermé !Il fait un peu mal aux mains mais avec les callosités, cela passera dans le temps.

Absolutely incredible purchase. The handles are incredibly sturdy, this thing was built to last. But it’s almost mandatory to get the tape with it as the abrasive metal is too course for most hands. Super easy to change weight for it as well!

Met dit apparaat doe je geen miskoop. Oer degelijk uitgevoerd en met genoeg weerstand voor de sterksten onder ons. Ik ben blij met dit apparaat en kan me niet voorstellen dat het geen jaren en jaren mee gaat.
