The Perfect Smart Lock
The Level Lock is a fantastic addition to my smart home. It was easy to set up with the app and works seamlessly with HomeKit and Siri Shortcuts. The lock itself is really high quality, secure, and has a super smooth and clever design. It comes with two well-made keys, and installation was straightforward—any minor adjustments were just due to my door, not the lock. What really makes it shine is the automation. I've set it up with a Hue motion sensor so that I barely even have to touch the lock anymore. It unlocks when I walk into the room and works perfectly with geofencing too. Overall, it’s not just a lock—it’s a fully integrated smart solution that makes life easier. Absolutely a five-star product in my book.

***NO MORE MATTER/HUB SUPPORT?????!?!?***
Wish I could leave less than one ⭐! Deceptive, Anti-Consumer Practices by Level Lock (Avoid This Brand) I’ve owned Level locks for years and was generally satisfied with the build quality and design, which is why I purchased another Level+ unit for over $300 — an already steep premium price compared to competitors. What I received is the exact same hardware model I’ve successfully used before, yet the company has deliberately crippled one of its most valuable features: native integration with SmartThings hubs. This isn’t a hardware limitation or technical issue. Older identical models connected to SmartThings without problem by installing the proper firmware. Level has simply chosen to remove that firmware support, forcing users into their newer (and more expensive) ecosystem. The hardware capability is still present in the device I just bought, but the company intentionally disabled it through software. This is textbook planned obsolescence and a blatant cash-grab. Instead of supporting existing customers who have invested heavily in their products, Level is punishing loyalty by breaking core functionality that worked reliably for years. At $300+ per lock, customers expect long-term support and compatibility — not deliberate feature removal to drive upgrade sales. What makes this especially infuriating: Smart home integration is the entire reason to buy a $300+ “smart” lock in the first place. I now have a very expensive deadbolt that is significantly less useful than previous versions of the exact same model. No warning was provided at purchase that this critical SmartThings feature had been removed. When I contacted customer service about the issue, they were willing to offer me a laughable $20 discount toward purchasing their new model for $400!!! What a joke. After I’ve already spent over $300 per lock and more than $2,200 on the entire Level lock system throughout my house, this insulting “offer” shows exactly how little they value long-term customers. This behavior is unacceptable. It demonstrates deep disrespect for people who trusted the brand and built their smart homes around Level products. If they’re willing to disable paid features on existing hardware and then throw pennies at loyal customers to push expensive upgrades, what’s next — mandatory subscriptions, sudden bricking of locks, or dropping support entirely? I’ve completely lost trust in Level. I strongly recommend avoiding them and looking at alternatives from brands that actually respect their customers (Yale, Schlage, and others offer comparable or better functionality without the bait-and-switch tactics). Level, you had a good product line. By removing features customers paid for and relied on — and then insulting long-term buyers with pathetic discounts — you’ve turned a loyal customer into someone who will never buy from you again and will actively warn others. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. Do not buy from this company!

Great Lock and App, HomeKit still stinks….
Very nice lock, high quality and easy to install. Level lock app works great as well. As usual Apple HomeKit suXKs and won’t connect.

Connected Security
One of the most striking features of the Level Lock+ is its discreet and seamless profile. Unlike other smart locks, the Level Lock+ is installed within the door, preserving the original look of your home's entryway. Installation is very straightforward. With minimal tools and expertise required, users can easily retrofit their doors with this intelligent lock, making it an ideal choice for both homeowners wanting piece of mind and convince from the smart features. Functionality-wise, the Level Lock+ includes a lot of the features you would expect. The app allows you to conveniently control access to their homes remotely, monitor lock status, and receive real-time notifications. It also is compatible with leading smart home ecosystems. Setting up with my existing Google Home was seamless. In terms of performance, the Level Lock+ has been reliable and responsive. The lock operates smoothly and quietly. The one down side is the battery performance, it uses a CR2 battery, and despite claims of a year, expect a few months at best with heavy usage. The Level Lock is a brilliant concept if your absolute priority is an invisible smart lock. The design is top-notch. However, the battery concerns and the concerning hollow bolt design (where the battery lives!) are things I would like to see In never versions. But even with those concerns the benefits the core functionality of smart lock and the ability to retrofit existing doors.

1 year later.. I don't like it and don't recommend.
I got this in 2024 and just a year later, I honestly regret buying this. Yes, it is one of the smallest smart locks in its product area but it's also one of the most inconvenient. The battery dies so quickly and for some reason, the app is never able to tell me when I'm nearing the time to replace it. Because of that, I've found myself locked out multiple times. When I had an iPhone and had it setup with Apple Home Kit, the sensor was way too finicky and hardly ever worked, including on an Apple Watch Ultra 2. My husband and I stuck to using the NFC key tab. The installation was always a pain, in two different houses / doors. I don't know what it is about the really long screws for the face plate but one side always seemed to thread incorrectly leading to a loose side that felt impossible to keep tightening. Lastly, the lock almost always cannot auto lock for some reason. It'll make the sound of a door jam a few times before finally locking, without us doing any physical intervention. For the same price, I'm now looking to replace this with the Lockly Visage. It may not be as small, but it's vastly feature rich. I'm mainly looking forward to the rechargable batteries!! Readers, PLEASE reconsider purchasing this product.

Perfect Smart Lock Solution for My 1971 Home – No Need to Replace Original Hardware!
I recently installed the Level Lock+ Connect Wi-Fi Smart Lock on my front door, and it’s exactly what I was looking for. My house, built in 1971, still has the original doors and hardware, so I wanted to integrate smart lock technology without having to replace any of the existing hardware. This lock did the job perfectly! The installation was straightforward, and I love that it doesn’t change the aesthetic of my original door. The matte black finish looks sleek, and the lock works seamlessly with Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and other smart devices. I can now control my lock remotely, which is super convenient, especially with my two large dogs. Overall, it’s a great smart lock that combines modern convenience with the classic look of my home.

Save your money! Terrible product and a frustrating, painful warranty process!
I saw the negative reviews on Amazon and Best Buy and unfortunately made the mistake of giving Level Home a chance anyway. My lock stopped working just a couple of months in. I went through all their troubleshooting steps on my own before reaching out, but support was completely unhelpful. They made me repeat the exact steps I had already tried. When I finally asked to process a warranty claim, they hit me with an absurd amount of friction. They demand detailed videos of battery replacement in a specific order, multiple photos of the entire door, housing, strike plates, and jambs. Seemingly looking for any possible excuse to shift the blame onto environmental factors or installation rather than standing behind their faulty product. It feels like they purposefully design their warranty process to be as exhausting as possible so you give up. Save yourself the headache and your money. Please buy from a brand that actually honors its warranty without making you jump through ridiculous hoops.

I was sold me a fake lock. NOT Plus!
I purchase this because I wanted to use the Apple home key, after multiple attempts of connecting to home kit failed, I called Level support and after they checked the serial number and home kit code, they confirmed that while the box and package are indeed Lock + however the actual physical lock and hardware is level lock touch (the cheap one)! I paid $540 plus tax to receive an$250 item!

Good quality but quite delicate
Just one battery so it can’t last too long and also the motor can’t have enough torque.
