Hawke Endurance ED 8x42 Monocular - Green

I bought this monocular for safari and absolutely love it! Superb optics, great quality and value, support a family-run world-leading British brand! Really great clear optics, good field of view, very smooth and easy to focus with one hand which is really important for quick changes of distance. Also for me, I wear glasses or prescription sunglasses so the really good eye relief was really important to me - they are perfect for quick spotting without needing to take glasses on and off, I have a perfect view, and the twist-up eye pieces work well for non-glasses wearers (if you let them have a go!). I found them brilliant for dawn and dusk game drives as well, good in low light too. The viewing compared very favourably with much more expensive nikon binocs. I much prefer a smaller lighter monocular to binocs, and am much more likely to carry it with me. I've had an 8x25 before, also useful and very small - but this 42 has so much better field of view and clarity! I've had a higher zoom monocular - 10-25x42, but it was basically useless, impossible to hold steady enough in the hand - and it, and other 8x25 binoculars, had such poor eye relief that I could not really use them at all, made me realise the eye relief is a vital thing for me to use it with my glasses - at least 15mm and preferably more (this one is perfect at 18mm) . This Hawke monocular is so good I might buy the 10x42 as well! But 8x is probably the best sweet spot for ease of spotting moving wildlife. For me, the supplied lanyard came apart on day 1, but I do not care at all - dropped the monoc on the ground and it is tough enough to be absolutely fine, and I wanted a different lanyard anyway. Made one with a ribbon! So I still give 5 stars, the monocular is outstanding value and quality and that is the important thing.

A really nice mid-range monocular. I did a fair bit of research and comparison before plumping for a Hawke Endurance model. I just wanted something half decent to take on walks, trips away and for watching wildlife in our back garden and this seems to fit the bill. Although I would’ve preferred more, the x8 magnification feels about right when viewing freehand without a tripod or additional support. The focus wheel is both smooth and positive and easy to adjust when tracking your target. The image is bright and clear across the range and focuses sharply right down to a few feet. The monocular appears solid, robust and well-made if a little bulky and heavy for a pocket it would easily stow into a backpack. For a little over £100 I would thoroughly recommend.

I was originally looking for binoculars but bought this instead. Good optics, lightweight and easy to use. I'm far more likely to take this on a walk in the country than a pair of binoculars

As other reviewers have said, this is a really solidly built monocular, with smooth focus and great optics. There have been a couple of comments about the lanyard: I'm guessing that the manufacturer must have replaced what they used to ship with something better because I've had no issues with it at all. I did manage to lose the dust cover for the objective lens the first time I took it out - something to possibly watch out for. It's relatively heavy (a reflection of the quality of the build materials), so I tend to carry it in a rucksack rather than a pocket. Overall, I'm thoroughly pleased with it: perfect for bird watching.

I got the Hawke 8x42 ED Endurance for Christmas & am very happy with it. Have been using a pair of Steiner Wildlife binos which have been great until my left eye became weaker than my right. This meant that focussing the binos properly became an issue. After quite a bit of research & reading countless reviews I settled on them Hawke 8x42. Used them for the first time today & I’m very impressed with my choice. Lighter & a bit smaller than I thought & the focus wheel at the top was very smooth indeed. The image quality is brilliant for what I need them for - general spotting on walks or when fishing. I’m no expert on optical equipment but, for me, this monocular ticks all the boxes for a tad over £100.

Great image from monocular, let down by being quite heavy/bulky. The eye piece relief cups mechanism feels very cheap and nasty (plasticky and wobbles). Front lens cap isn't tethered, the back is?!?!

Excellent bit of kit. Very rugged construction, compact (I think 8×42 is the sweet spot), high quality optics, easy to focus with one hand when wearing thick gloves. The only minor improvement would be to link the detachable eye cap with the lanyard fixing so it's still attached to the monocular like the lens cap.

Excellent. I use a pair of Leica binoculars when setting out birding or nature watching but these are excellent for having with me all the time, compact enough to fit in a coat pocket big enough not to miss anything and optically excellent. So good my wife’s bought one, to stop her “borrowing” mine.

Optics are sharp edge to edge, field of view is good, Image is bright and the 8X magnification means you can move the monocular around without the image shaking too much. Strong enough to bring in the detail but not so strong you can't follow something that's moving. The focus knob is easy to use one handed and the eye cup easily adjusts between wearing glasses or not.

I use this mainly as an aid to spot birds for photography. For that purpose, it's perfect. The focus dial is great to use, and thanks to its placement, that can be easily done with one hand. The build quality seems great, the eye relief allows using the monocular easily both with and without glasses. Magnification is not very high but it is plenty enough for spotting and identifying birds or other animals that are not that far but hiding and jumping around in the foliage. I've been carrying it around in my coat pocket a lot, which allowed me to pull it out quickly. The grip is great too.

Not very experienced with scopes but can say the image is crystal clear and the focus knob is easy to use and works smoothly* It does have a tripod mount* It's not equipped with a zoom feature like a different garbage scope we got thinking it would perform as advertised but the zoom feature didn't work at all but effectively was a glorified focus* We thought this monocular is British so it must be well made as far as optical pieces go and we're not disappointed* It effectively does the same thing the other so called 'spotting scope' does but is far more compact and versatile*

ottimo raporto qualità prezzo. in confronto a nikon prostaf 7 10x32 è piubello come immagine, facile mettere a fuoco e visuale molto larga.
