Lamp does not come close to rating; Color issues
The projector requires serious tuning to get a decent picture. The iris fluctuates seemingly randomly, making scenes dark when they shouldn't be. You'll be lucky to get a year out of the lamp, even in "low" mode. Expect to replace it every year. Wish I had bought a Sony

Magnificent
This projector is expensive, and it's worth every penny of the hefty price. I upgraded from a Panasonic projector that I used for 8 years, and that served me well. After building a new home theater, I wanted to treat the family to a truly exceptional video experience, and I hit the jackpot with this purchase. The picture on this things is deep, rich, vivid and brilliant. What also really pops on this is the black levels. It's as black as I've ever personally seen in a home theater projector, and the black level makes for a picture contrast that takes your viewing experience to an incredible level. About the only gripe is that it's slow to boot up. Takes roughly 35 seconds to turn on the lamp, which is a bit slower boot time than my Panasonic. That said, the picture quality is simply phenomenal. Even with ambient light in the room, the picture is still crisp and detailed. The 4k content it renders is off the charts good. If you can afford the crazy price tag, you will LOVE this projector. It's a strong 5/5 stars.

Why did I not get a jvc before.
I’ve had several projectors. My last was the optoma uhd60 4k i wasn’t really ever happy with it. I haven’t had the jvc long but so far the picture is so much better than my optoma. The black levels are outstanding and the “4keshift5 does a great job. I have an acoustic screen and you can still see every little bit of detail. The colors are great also. The hdr is good not great, but no projector does hdr well. This is rated at 1800 lumens, my optoma is rated at 3000 and I can tell you this jvc is way brighter. This thing cost a little more but it’s defininly worth it. I picked it up for about half of Amazon’s price. 3d works looks good also. Had to spend another 100 for the ok-em2 emitter though.
