Tried Midori out of curiosity and it’s a bit of a mixed one depending how you use it.First thing, it’s very sweet. Like proper sweet. Almost like a melon syrup or strong cordial. On its own it’s a bit much and I wouldn’t really drink it straight unless it’s over ice and even then just a small amount.Taste is definitely melon, more like honeydew than anything else. Kind of candy like rather than fresh fruit, but still nice in the right setting.Where it works best is in cocktails. Mix it with something sharp like lemon or lime and it balances out nicely. Makes drinks look bright green as well which is fun if you’re making stuff at home.Texture is a bit syrupy, you can feel the sugar, so again not something you’d want loads of on its own.Overall, it’s not a classy sipping drink but that’s not really what it’s for. If you like sweet, fruity cocktails it’s worth having in the cupboard. If you’re expecting something subtle or natural tasting you might be a bit disappointed.
