Fitness for purpose

Cheap, but does the job and lasts well
It's very inexpensive, so I wouldn't necessarily expect it to last a lifetime. I've bought a few of these now, and the quality seems to match the price. I fitted one on my son's bedroom door about 7 years ago, and it's still working well. I bought another recently for our dining room door. You can probably extend the lifetime significantly if you only turn the handle to open the door, and close it by pushing shut without turning the handle. But, for the price, I have no complaints at all. My only minor gripe is that the strike plate is completely flat, where there really should be a slight bend in the tab that sticks out, to guide the latch in smoothly; however, bending it manually with a couple of grips is not difficult.

Plastic parts ?
Most of the product looks OK but I'm slightly hesitant about the plastic part that accepts the metal spindle . Not sure how long this will last as I'd have thought it would sturdier had it made of metal.
