A great shoe for the gym
I really like this shoe. I’ve been going to a gym for multiple workouts to strengthen my legs. This shoe with its large toe box is perfect for my workouts. The fit is snug yet comfortable. I’ve been doing workouts on a seated bicycle, on a two-legged leg press, and on a traditional elliptical. I had had Altra shoes before and was interested in this “cross training” shoe, and quite impressed by it. I would not recommend it for outdoor training — Altra has other shoes specifically for outdoor running.

Premium Build, Perfect Fit
Excellent shoes for working out at the gym. They are very comfortable and the quality is palpable. Altra shoes are known for their ample toe box which allows one's feet natural freedom of movement. I typically wear size 12 but 12.5 fits better.

Great shoes that last
9-ish months later, and they’re holding up fantastically. I wear them every day and love the wide toe box. Probably not the most comfortable for a long run, but great for every other activity (weight training, around the house wear, walking, etc).

After two months they seem to be doing great.
Been wearing these for two months now at the CrossFit gym 4-5 days a week. They are sure comfortable, and holding up great. I am used to wearing Altra Escalante, and Altra Torin’s. These are slightly narrower in the mid foot than those models. It isn’t a dealbreaker for me, but I wouldn't mind if the mid foot was slightly wider. But I can deal. They are still comfortable and give me no pain or problems while working out at the gym. I do a lot of runs, sprints, agility training, box jumps, ect. They have been handling it all, with little to no wear. When they get slightly dirty, they clean if well with a damp cloth. These fit true to size, so I wouldn't recommend sizing up or down.

Tennis Player - Solid Shoe
When I first played tennis in the Altra XT 1, I moved better than I ever had before. The ability to feel the ground through my feet was unparalleled in that shoe, and it was so light I felt like I was floating. The XT2 came next, and it was alright. It was heavier and clunkier than the XT 1, but also more durable, which was a reasonable trade-off for a sport played on concrete. The XT2 was still lighter and swifter than all the other tennis shoes on the market, which was great. The XT 3 is heavier and thicker still. With each generation, connection to the ground is getting slightly worse, and the shoe resembles other market shoes more and more. However, it’s still a good shoe. Critically, all generations of Altra XT, including the XT3, have allowed me to play with my toe spacers in. I've dealt with toe and heel issues in the past, and playing in Altras with toes pacers has completely healed them. My toes feel absolutely nothing anymore, and my heels and plantar fascia are completely healthy as well. I can easily slide on clay, and the shoes allow sliding on hard-court, I just don't because I don't trust myself. In fact, the slightly bulkier, thicker XT3’s are the best hard-court sliding shoes of the entire line. Durability with the XT 3 is similar to the XT 2, perhaps marginally better. Like with every tennis shoe, the right toe-box is the first to go, but these lasted at least a few months before that happened. Realistically, they aren’t going to last more than 2 months if you’re playing 8+ hours/week, but unfortunately that’s just par for the course. Sizing wise, I dropped down from 11 to 10.5 with these. I actually think these have a slightly better natural foot shape than the XT2, which is why my feet feel better fit dropping down to 10.5. 4 stars. Would be 5 stars if they had a more flexible sole, were lighter, or lasted 3+ months instead of 1-2 depending on play intensity.

Zero Tongue Control
I like the shoe, BUT the tongue is useless; it slides completely to the side and does not stay in place. If that was fixed, I'd definitely rate them higher.

Comfortable
Liking this shoe so far. I've been gravitating towards zero heel drop and lower tread heights lately and these fit the bill. I don't feel the ground like minimalist shoes, but they check all my other boxes. I also like that they have a hard toe area. I did have to go up a half size in these. They did look a tad shorter than my other Altras.

My new go-to gym shoe
My new go-to gym shoe. Have been wearing Altra's for many years for trail running and didn't know they made a gym/cross-training shoe until my PT recommended. Always wore running shoes to gym and had lots of movement in the shoes doing plyos and lateral exercises. These have firmer lower soles and work great for all gym activities and have the Altra wide toe box and zero drop. Highly recommend

Almost there
The back of the heel caves in at every step rubbing against your socks and heel, that is why I returned it. It is a pitty because otherwise looks a nice shoe

Happy Feet!
I am very happy with these shoes. They are comfortable and offer good support on the court. I found out about them from the recommended list of shoes by Dr Angela Walk.

Not the widest toe box
They have a slightly wider toe box than normal but they're not the widest altra makes. You can check their website to find the right ones.

Ottime
