Beautifully written
Vikram Seth is a genius. I wish he wrote more books in verse. The Golden Gate is one of my favorite books and I have read it many times. The Hanuman Chalisa, has been beautifully translated in Seth's inimitable words I loved it. I just wish it was longer. Much longer.

Brilliant interpretation

Almost singable to the most popular tune of hanuman chalisa.
No one else but Vikram Seth could translate the Hanuman Chalisa with so much precision. He has a flair for poetry that is phenomenal. By no means easy the poet has so meticulously kept intact the essence of the original.
