Bose Companion 2; Multimedia Speaker System

Amazing speakers and amazing service/ delivery. A bit pricey, but worth it for the bass

The first time I saw these speakers they were hooked up to a sound board in a recording studio and due to the acoustics in the room they were so loud during a conversation I had to turn them down. During that time I was in the market for multi media speakers that's when I notice these were Bose speakers, so small but the sound was so big, so I started researching price etc.. I soon learned they were not the newest model for the Bose multi media speakers and this model was hard to locate but I was able to find them at amazon priced much less then the newest model. I read all of the reviews and made my decision to purchase these because I knew this model had the sound and look I wanted. They arrived as promised and the first thing I did was hooked them up to my labtop and was blown away with the sound. Then I got the idea to hook them up to my Ilive soundbar which has a subwoofer that supports my Ipod listen pleasure and placed them in the bookcase and OMG the sound was amazing for such small speakers. Even still, these speakers come with a second source input so I can play the Ipod on the ILIVE,audio gaming and music from my labtop, what more would you need. The only draw back is there isn't an on and off switch for these powered speakers. If you are looking for speakers to give you that big sound at 100watts per channel these are not for you but if you need that rich sound to enhance your labtop or an extention to a soundbar for a small room order now you cannot go wrong. I am very happy with my Bose!

The sound is crisp, clear, and as loud as anyone but a teenager would want it to be. Hooks up easily and quickly to my computer. There's no subwoofer, so I didn't expect a lot of base ... and that's exactly what I got, not a lot of base. Do NOT expect this to sound like a thousand dollar system and do NOT expect the type of base you would get with a good subwoofer. Base is there, it sounds good, but it's not what it would be with bigger and more expensive speakers. I listen to classic rock, easy listening, classical, pop, "background music," but not Heavy Metal. I replaced an older pair of Logitek speakers that had a subwoofer and can't say that I hear any LESS base than I could with the prior system, and the sound is crisper and clearer. The older speakers were a bit aged, and the subwoofer on the older system didn't get a lot of power. These speakers are NOT omnidirectional, so you have to be able to position them well ... which is to say, you need to be able to have them on each side of you nearly equally distant. The speaker cords could have been longer; that would have helped. The price was good. I'm happy enough with these that I would buy them again at the Amazon price in a second. I put on music and concentrate on my work on the computer and have music, not any disappointment from the speakers. They still won't make Heavy Metal sound good ... to me ... but then, maybe I'm showing my age.

i got these and to my dismay the didn't work..i called the BOSE CO.in the USA and talked with a gentleman that said that since it was in an brand new box when i received it, even though it was from an un-authorized seller he would give me the lifetime waranty, sent me a return lable and sent me a new set that actually worked. o everything else i've bought in the past 3 months has not worked. i quit amazon...

I LOVE this thing! I mean, what can you expect from Bose? I think they go outta their way to make their products excellent! HOWEVER, there is one thing that annoys me GREATLY about these speakers! I have VERY LIMITED space, so I have to keep the speakers together on my very small desk. Luckily, the music masks the sound while in use, but when I'm not online - I have to unplug them so I don't hear that obnoxious sound! It may seem like a tiny thing, but when you have a quiet room and that's all you hear, it gets to you! I wish they'd warn you about that kinda stuff, but then again, these speakers work AMAZINGLY with clear, crisp sound and AWESOME bass despite the fact they lack a woofer!

these are not bad speakers but neither are they the best i've heard. for the price i guess they are quite good value. I'll use them but as i said i wasnt blown away by the sound quality. some styles of music do sound better than others on them. the highs are quite crisp but low end is a little lacking. overall i give them 3 out of 5 stars. Oh.... mine doesn't have an 'off' switch rather just have to turn volume right down. i would have liked that feature included. the extra input to play something else through them as well as the computer is quite handy.

If you'd like to have a good brand product for an honest price, just go for this pair of BOSE. The sound just great and have a pretty nice compressor when the music is loud. The basses are warm and comfortable. I would say you might need some bigger ones for parties of 50 people and more, but they work just great for your room and music. I also edit shorts film with this set and it is good enough to adjust audio imperfections at its best. Super recommended!

The item was used, and the first pair had problem. I contacted the seller and he sent another pair right away. The second pair worked great.
