Deviant Moon Tarot Deck: 78-Card Surreal Tarot for Divination, Shadow Work & Dream Journaling

Have had this deck for a couple of years now and it has worked very well for me. I still use them often. No signs of wear so far. Definitely good quality.

I don’t know anything how these cards are used. But as a lifelong artist of more than 50 years I find the art intriguing. In addition I paid a very reduced price for a used deck, but I got a brand new deck still shrink wrapped in plastic. Very happy.

Beautiful cards that show you something new every time you use them. I find my interpretation often doesn't match the author's, but it works for me to just see what jumps out from the layered textures and stories the cards tell. I use this deck almost exclusively now.

I am absolutely blown away by this deck! The cards are sturdy and they shuffle nicely, and the artwork is absolutely stunning. It's a very surreal approach to some of the classic tarot themes and archetypes. The guide pamphlet gives insight into each card without giving you 2+ pages of minute details (which is why I don't use most other guidebooks, because I want to form my own opinions of a reading). The readings I've done with this deck have been very moving, and I connect with this deck on a deep spiritual level. It helps me dive into the darker side of my life's influences and challenges, which I can't always do with more "positive" or "upbeat" decks. Ultimately, this is an ideal deck for those who want something darker (while still paying homage to the traditional tarot themes).

This deck often calls to me during the waning moon. It is very honest and cares about what you need more than what you want. I always feel like it's a dark humored joke being told, like a trickster at play. The artwork lends to the trickster simile, very abstract and unsettling at times. Would recommend this deck to anyone who enjoys when the world sleeps.

Very intuitive deck that practically reads itself. Each card is masterfully detailed and easy to interpret. The little paper booklet has basic interpretation. I'm ordering the book not out of necessity but for more detail on the cards design and background. I like the small size and ease to shuffle with my arthritic hands. I must say this deck is turning out to be my favorite.

This deck is so well done that I love it *despite* not connecting with the theme. Each card is unique and rich and draws you in, even if you don't like the world of cartoon horror and moon people Valenza has depicted. And yet I don't really know if it would entirely work without the theme. One of the interesting aspects of the various cards is how at times, characters have different numbers of legs, arms, breasts, etc. than a human would, and especially, different types of fingers. I'm not sure how well that would work in a deck without a little lighthearted surreal horror. So many cards just have fascinating symbolism, yet this deck actually fits very well with more traditional interpretations. I really feel like this deck is a step forward in understanding Tarot. I'm disappointed that I got the "classic" version instead of the "borderless" - Valenza corrected some details in the borderless edition which he had overlooked in the original. They may seem slight but they're mistakes, not just oversights.

Package arrived nice and quick, and the box was completely undamaged. I love these cards, they look incredible. The quality is great, but the card stock is a little on the thinner side. It’s not weak cardstock, but bends easily. On the other hand, it shuffles VERY well and when doing a fan spread the cards glide like butter. Would highly recommend but just beware the cardstock is not as tough as some may like. Also the cards are not matte and do have a shine to them, which I prefer but others may not like. Overall I love this deck, and I hope this review was helpful. 👍

Definitely one of the darker decks with great artwork and energy to it.
