Weatherproof Outdoor Socket Waterproof Double Socket 3M Extension Lead IP66 Switched Wall Electrical Outlet 13 Amp 2 Gang Power Socket, Garden Outside Plug Sockets Cover Box

I needed this to replace an existing unit outside which had some water ingress. I mounted the box and wired it in attached the 240v armoured cable checked to see if I had power at the terminals and closed the unit up. When I plugged in my power washer there was no power at either socket. I had to go out to a local supplier and pay more for a new unit and fit that one which came without cable glands so utilised the ones that came with this unit. So I can only give a honest opinion of my experience which was the unit didn't work. As I used the cable glands I did not bother returning the unit for an exchange or refund.

After over a year of using it started to burn, a lot of smoke in our porch, melted plug and socket, seems like there's a problem with fuse (?) it happened yesterday about 9.00pm, just before I went to bed... Don't want to think what would happen if I wouldn't smell the smoke!!! now need to replace the socket and pay more for our safety... Better buy something from local electrician store with certificate , it's not worth saving a few pounds risking life of the whole family.

I thought this was good but it’s not. Only had a few months and water gets in the cover which is very dangerous. All the seals are in place so no reason for the rain to get in but it does. So not something I would buy again. You told me to message you about this so I did and you didn’t reply. It’s full of water won’t buy again.

This outdoor socket states it comes with a 3 m power lead. Well it’s only 2m and I had to wire the power lead to the outdoor socket. I was charged extra for a wired product but really it’s just like the wireless product. It could be someone returned this item and included their own lead. The item was not as described.

Got this as an emergency in case my home charging port decided to stop working, which recently it has. No problems using this the first 3-4 charges but on the 5th there was a smell of warm plastic when plugged in. Last night how ever there was a strong burning plastic smell and upon checking there was a plume of smoke coming from the plug. I immediately switched the socket off and removed the plug to discover that it had actually melted to the socket. So glad that I checked before going to bed or it could have beeb disastrous.

Installed under doorway porch but not waterproof IP 66, this particular item was not BS Kite standard. Maybe a one off but not good enough, seller went missing during post initial contact, kept blowing the fuse board after rain. Professional electrician said they would not fix a faulty item. Up to them to sort out issue, but didn’t bother to reply to my complaint.

A electrian fitted this unit outside in the porch but the unit was not working in as much as as soon as load ie something was plugged into it it tripped the main fuse board everything was checked & doubled checked (quite a simply installion tbh) & it can only be the faulty unit which has now put a huge spanner in the works! Not happy at all Unit looked good tho tbh!

After I finished installing it, the first time I closed the cover the clip broke… so I couldn’t be bothered to spend another 45 minutes to disconnect the whole thing and return it…. Also the gasket was the wrong size and supplied screws were very poor steel
