Smart pots mimic the condition of the soil and placing the plant in such kind of pots ensures that the plants grow healthily as if they were in the soil. The smart pot goes for $6.76. You might be tempted to think that the pot is inferior if price is anything to go by. But that assertion is further from the truth because the smart pot works efficiently. There are other similar pots that are pricey but I believe that this pot works with the same potency as the pricey ones. There is however no need of investing in the pricey ones yet this one works more or less the same way. This soft sided fabric aeration pot has the rigidity to hold its shape. Aeration helps in the root structure of a plant. I was a bit skeptic because of the soft sides and I thought that the pot would lose its shape but luckily my theory was wrong and unfounded. Good roots lead to more flowers and fruits and ever greens. Roots are the epitome of any plant and nurturing them is the only sure way of ensuring that the flowers and the fruits are healthy and good looking. It also allows excess heat to escape. Everything about this aeration pot is lovable mainly because it works as advertised. I still haven’t found any cons that I would attach to this pot and that’s why I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality and economical aeration pot. I use it to grow trees but you can basically use it grow other plantations. Whichever plant you decide to grow in this aeration pots you can be assured that you will derive the same good results. A plastic pot is suffocating in nature and roots literally die (in that roots circle). Multiple roots boosts quicker growth because roots don’t circle. The plastic pots aren’t dedicated planting pots and they can only do so much. Elated roots eventually lead to good looking plantation and you can be assured of that with this aeration pot. I can’t talk much about its durability because I have had it for some time and it has held up pretty well. My best bet is that this aeration pot will be here for months if not years. Highly recommended!!!

After going through several reviews, videos and recommendations from friends, I have gone ahead and purchased few of these Smart Pots to do some R&D and some beta-testing :) These smart pots work and plants seem to like growing in them a lot. I have gotten 2 5-Gal pots and planted a tomato plant in each and at the same time planted couple of tomato plants on the ground. I have used a signature blend potting soil from a local landscaping store with lots of useful stuff in them as that was much cheaper than buying from bigger B&M stores. The ones in the smart pots both have gotten very big and started fruiting, while the ones in the ground have not grown as big and only one of them have started bearing fruit while all of them had the same kind of soil. I also observed the roots at the bottom of the tomato plants within 3 weeks and that shows the healthy root growth of the plant. These smart pots kind of air prune the roots so that the roots are confined and are not out grown crazily outside the pot. I occasionally move the pots from one location to another so as to not attract any kind of bugs under the pot. I would not go anything below 5 Gal and would use 5 Gals for smaller plants and 10G or bigger for the tomato plants or any other vegetable plants that link to have deep roots.These Smart Pots seem to be made of some kind of polyester material that are kind of fibrous that have several air pores. Surprisingly, I found a similar material used as a lining in my Honda Civic's Trunk. I am also doing some research and exploration using big fabric shopping bags as Pots vs Smart Pots for growing plants. I will come back to post my research. School has just started back and I started my garden in May or June. I started off in 8 inch plastic pots but knew quickly my plants needed more space. I live on the 6th floor and can't plant in the ground so I looked every place I could. I needed large pots since I was growing peppers and tomatoes and other plants. I found all kinds of pots but they cost so much. Then I came across this one. It is perfect. Not only were they just $15 each at the time I got them but the pots are soft which makes my plants not get over heated. This is a bonus with the sun shining on them most of the day. The pots allow extra water to drain. This is also a plus since when it rains, it rains hard and when I water, I water a lot. I do not have to worry about over watering because all the extra water flose right out. I have had to rearrange my pots when some plants grew to big for their spots and these pots make it so easy to move them. I also was able to plant them when they were smaller and fold the sides of the pots down then slowly add dirt to them as they grew and raised the pots sides. This was so helpful because repotting plants can be stressful on them. I am inlove with these pots and am going to get them for now on.

Great item to solve specific problems.I bought this because I have limited garden space and wanted to grow Zucchini. I didn't want the plants to over grow my garden as happened last year. So I started three plants in this pot and placed it away from my garden. The results were awesome! Instead of sending out long vines that took up a lot of space, the plants grew up symmetrically so each side of the pot had fruit hanging over the side. This was a great application for this item.

I recently found out about "air pots" from one of the employees at Annie's Annuals & Perennials. They deal in exotic and rare plants, so I took his advice to check into it, as a means to not only grow plants faster, but healthier. When I looked into it, I found two different types - the original plastic, with holes all around, and these cloth Smart Pots. The plastic pots being too expensive to just try out at the moment, the very practical Smart Pots caught my attention. Lightweight, simple to use, and economical. These would do the trick, so I ordered a variety of sizes for various gardening projects I have going.Upon receiving the Smart Pots, I was pleasantly surprised. They are conveniently packaged flat (unlike any clay or plastic pots), and yet retain their originally intended shape upon opening. Very lightweight, which adds to the convenience, both in storage when not using, and in lifting them with plants inside. They hype proved to be true. These were the real deal.The main aspect about the Smart Pot "air pots" is the aeration facet. Air is allowed inside from all over. As well, it is built to prevent plants from "root balling." Instead, the roots are "air trimmed" and forced to sprout the more effective smaller runner roots, which do a better job at collecting moisture and nutrients. One reviewer stated that one of his plants had almost "doubled in size" overnight. While I can attest that no plant of mine did exactly that, I CAN say with honesty that all the plants I put into the Smart Pots definitely grew faster and fuller, and appeared healthier.For the commercial gardener, or for someone who has many projects going on and no time for immediate transplants - Smart Pots are the excellent solution for keeping plants in check and growing until a place in the ground is found. Being cloth, it is very easy to simply roll the pot in your hands, or just loosen the edges, to help remove the plant from the pot. This is especially helpful for tree growers. And the plant, along with most of the dirt, simply comes out, ready to re-plant elsewhere.There are going to be personal opinions about Smart Pots' appearance. They come in primarily black, and a few tans. Personally, I enjoy them. Others have argued that they simply don't look like a proper pot, but it's all about practicality and what your plans are. For me, mixed in with other pots in front, it's fine. Being cloth, they also are moldable in case you want to place them in tricky areas or corners. Think about parties that require more plant decorations - easy to place, fit, and later remove. Nice!I absolutely recommend Smart Pots. I have done gardening for quite some time, and worked with landscapers on occasion. These are about the easiest new tool out there for gardens. Simple and practical. I am absolutely going to get more when necessary.

I live in Albuquerque, and summer heat soar close to 95 degrees during the summer. Our atmosphere is thin and dry which makes the sun particularly hot. I've had a container vegetable and flower garden in my shadeless backyard for years with spotty results. Two years ago I found the Smart Pots and thought I'd give it a try. I had amazing results! Tomatoes have never been bigger and bore as much fruit as they have with the smart pots. And my flowers are amazing! When I clean up in the fall, the tomato roots are full and lush and I can tell they are healthy. I also began using Fox Farm soil, which I also highly recommend. The only complaint I have is that because the top edges are soft they often flop down and water can spill out. I recommend propping the edges up with small twigs or pieces of wood. I have also folded the tops over which gives them a bit more stability. They are not very attractive in my opinion, I would like some colors other than tan and black. Despite that, I can't recommend these enough especially if you live in a dry climate.

I keep buying more of these pots. They are wonderful. I planted roma tomatoes in my old plastic planters and some in these Smart Pots. Well, the Smart Pot roma tomatoes took off. The plants are over twice the size as the ones in the old planters and have produced many tomatoes where I am still waiting for the ones in the plastic containers to fully develop and turn red. The banana peppers, Anaheim peppers, etc. plants grew bigger than I have ever seen before. They are still producing and the stalks are thick and healthy. Cherry tomatoes were outstanding. I will use these Smart Pots every year and trash the plastic planters. I am very, very happy to have discovered these planters! Just be aware, they do take a lot of soil to fill so you will have to stock up. I get my vegetable planting soil when it goes on sale at the local store.

I purchased three of these to grow tomatoes this spring. The plants did very well- grew fast, large and produced copious amounts of fruit. However when the growing season ended and I emptied these pots, there was a significant mildew presence. And that was after they had been left in July Las Vegas sun to dry for a week. I ended up throwing them away because I didn't trust re-using them in that condition. If you can afford or don't mind replacing these after use, I would recommend them. I will not be not be purchasing again though.

It works well for plants that needs air at its roots. Helps prevent overwatering. Material is reusable but it is hard to get rid of excess salt built up from previous plant. A couple of good wash does it. The plants loved it see a difference compared to conventional pots

Ich habe Smart Pots genommen, weil ich ich sie zum einem ausprobieren wollte, um den Vergleich mit Tontöpfen zu haben und zum anderen die angepriesene Wurzelbildung in den Stofftöpfen testen wollte. Insgesamt war ich sehr zufrieden, das nächste Mal werde ich welche mit Griff kaufen, das Handling wird dadurch leichter.

La marca es buena, ya había comprado 2 veces estas macetas. Este ultimo pedido estaba mal marcado, compre una capacidad de 11 galones pero resulta que eran litros y en realidad la capacidad son 3 galones. Las devolvere pues buscaba macetas más grandes y el precio no lo vale para el tamaño, pues las otras que compre fueron de 5 y 7 galones, las compré en oferta y ambos pedidos me costaron parecido a este. Asumí que era oferta también pero solo era que pusieron la medición como galones en vez de litros.
