Works great on Travertine stains
I am too embarrassed to explain how this happened, but a full jar of dill pickle relish fell and broke on my Travertine tile kitchen floor. This flooring came with the condo when I bought it and I’ve never really taken good care of the floor in the10 years that I’ve lived here. I’ve never resealed the Travertine and I’ve been using the wrong floor cleaner all along. Needless to say, after cleaning up all the relish and the glass shards, I was left with a fairly large stain on my floor. With low expectations, I bought this etch remover and read all the reviews. Realizing that to have any success, this would take a lot of elbow grease. So, taking the advice of some reviewers I bought a bag of small 2” buffing pads that I could attach to my drill. I worked on small areas at a time, and to my surprise the stain was disappearing. After a couple hours, the stain was nearly gone. I plan to give it another going over to completely eradicate every trace of the stain. I wish that I had thought to take pictures to show the remarkable difference that this etch remover made. I also learned during this process that I should be using a neutral pH floor cleaner.

Marble table top
Our marble table had several spots and water rings from drinking glasses. This product took care of those noticeable areas, table looks great now. Glad I found something that actually worked!!

WARNING: Not safe for dark or black marble — contains undisclosed oxalic acid
I purchased this product to treat light etch marks on my black marble (Nero Marquina) coffee table. Neither the packaging nor the instructions disclose that this product contains oxalic acid — a bleaching agent that lightens stone. There is also no warning that this product is not suitable for dark or black marble. The result: my table was severely and visibly damaged. The oxalic acid lightened the surface of my black marble, creating discoloration that far exceeded the original etch marks I was trying to fix. I am now working with a professional stone restoration company to repair the damage. I do not doubt this product may work on white or light-colored marble. But the complete absence of any warning about oxalic acid content, or any guidance excluding dark stones, is a serious problem. Consumers deserve to know what chemicals they are applying to expensive natural stone surfaces. If you have dark, black, or heavily pigmented marble — do not use this product. I would strongly urge the manufacturer to update their labeling and instructions immediately. You can see the before and after within my photos. My table went from polished to matte/uneven honed.

Elbow Grease Required
My wife and I bought a used coffee table with a marble top. The marble top is 40” by 72” and had several rings from cups and various other spills on it that had created some pretty bad etch marks. Nonetheless, we bought it anyway because it suited our needs for our living room and we thought (hoped) that with a little work, we could remove all of the rings and etchings. The first thing we tried was a Simple Green product to polish the marble and try to remove the rings, but it did nothing to remove them. I then did some searching and found this product on Amazon and decided to give it a try. My first attempt was on one corner of the table using terrycloth and working in this product by hand. I worked one small 12”x12” corner for a good 30 minutes, until both hands and arms were too tired to do it anymore. I had used about 15% of the bottle for that one corner by the time I was done. I then cleaned it off with paper towels and water (3 times). When I was done, that corner looked better, but not perfect. We could still see some of the etchings that were there from before, but we could see improvement, too. Unfortunately, it was clear to me that trying to do this by hand for the entire table would be a pretty intense project to undertake. With that being said, I decided that doing it by hand was too difficult and researched various power tools (polishers) to see if I could find something suitable to make this work. Because of cost and probably just a one or two time use, I didn’t want to spend too much for a tool that I might never need or use ever again. I eventually settled on a hand held orbital buffer from the local Orange Hardware Store (you know the one). Its primary purpose was for buffing wax on a car, but I figured that since it could be fitted with terrycloth bonnets, that it just might work for my purposes, and it was significantly cheaper than a high speed polishing tool, too. Well, I used the entire bottle of this product on the rest of the table with that hand held buffer and after making quite a mess and cleaning up said mess off the table - the rest of the table did NOT look as good as the corner that I had done by hand. I could see overall improvement, but not nearly as good as the section I had done by hand. Now, with that being said, I do believe that this product works. However, with my table, the etchings were neglected for so long that they are in pretty deep and will require a lot more effort to remove than I might be capable of providing. But just because I wasn’t able to accomplish the goal, I could see that the product worked for minor etchings just fine. I think that for my table, I will need to bite the bullet and by a polisher (like the DEWALT DWP849X 7-Inch/9-Inch Variable Speed Polisher, also sold here on Amazon) that I think is more suited for a project of this scope. That polisher will help, with this product, to really get down deeper (and faster) to remove the etchings that have embedded themselves into the table over time. So, although I wasn’t successful with this product and my table, I don’t think it’s the products fault. I try very hard to be fair with my reviews and in this case, I think that the marble for my table just needs a lot more time and effort and the right tools with this product to truly make the product work for me. However, for minor etchings, this product would work just fine, I’m quite certain. I give the product 4/5 stars (I would have given it 5/5 stars if it had pulled off the miracle for my table).

So relieved - it worked!
I have been a guest in a client's home which has white marble kitchen counters. Terrifying! Despite my diligent preventative measures and VIGILANCE in paying attention and being careful, I STILL managed to get some significant "stains" (or etches, I think they are called) I was HORRIFIED! There are inevitable water drop marks I didn't see to wipe up in time, but the BIGGIE was from mango juice (more acidic than I realized too) that snuck under a cutboard I was using (to try to avoid the very problem that happened anyway!) Even though I wiped itall up within an hour of a big mango season processing session, it left this big cloudy mark, and, there were 2 right angle etches of the cutting board corners, too. VERY noticable!! As a GUEST, I was absolutely beside myself that I had inadvertently damaged this gorgeous home I'd been allowed to stay in for free for months!!! I was resigned to paying for professtional buffing if needed, but, after of course googling solutions, why not spend whatever this polishing stuff cost first, $30-40 I think and give it a couple hours of work and just TRY it, right? And IT WORKED!! I'm SO enormously relieved!!! I couldn't get decent pictures on the white marble in any lighting type but it's ALL significantly better!! Some of the areas and spots look like new. A few still have faint marking if you know they were there before but I don't think are easily noticeable at all. The few that you can still sorta see are faint enough that I feel they would be *inevitable* on fricking WHITE MARBLE in a FUNCTIONAL KITCHEN and therefore, I'm not too concerned about them at this point! I would absolutely recommend this product (and buy it again, but I hope to god I never need to!) Oh, and I had tried the 'home remedy' with a baking soda paste weeks ago, but that made very little difference. SO RELIEVED THIS PRODUCT WORKED!! I really don't know just how "bad", on a scale, the etches I had would be considered, but it was definitely worth trying and I can't imagine it wouldn't help at least some, maybe significantly for most problems (at least on white marble!)

Okay Polisher, Results a Bit Disappointing
I bought this product to remove surface marks from my marble vanity. While it improved some of the marks, it left many. I felt disappointed at not getting better results, even though I repeated the process on some areas as suggested. Using this compound is pretty messy, too, with lots of leftover polishing granules getting everywhere...

Works great
We have Carrara marble throughout our house and this stuff is the only thing we could find that actually works to get etching out of the surface. Highly recommend

Read directions and read my notes too. It really works.
Excellent stuff. Easy to use and not too messy. Did a pretty good job but needs to be done again. It is not magic so you have to be realistic about using this stuff. Your project is not an easy one to fix the problems so give this stuff a chance by doing it right and using some muscle to do it. Then do it again to get better results. Also, get a good cream polish and use that AFTER you are finished using this. Then polish again with a polishing machine to get a high gloss shine. One time polishing if fine but doing a second time with the help of a polisher is so much better. Machines are fairly cheap. I bought a Black & Decker hand held at Home Depot for around $30. I spend some time working on this for 2 days so dont expect to spend 2 hours and get instant results unless you don’t really have a problem but you want a better shine on your marble counter tops. You are lucky if you don’t have any problems and it looks perfect. Maybe if you never use the counters for anything otherwise you will NEED this stuff.
