Keeps old tools running.
Works well. Charges well. I have a whole set of tools from years ago. These keep them running. This is the second one I’ve bought.

Great replacement for the 18-Volt Skil drill, better than NI-CAD, uses same charger
I have an old Skil 18 v drill, the ni-cad batteries are exhausted so I purchased this replacements with nickel metal hydride batteries (NiMH) instead of the original ni-cads. The battery uses my original ni-cad charger, charges completely. The batteries work great, lots of power to my drill and no memory effect like the ni-cads. The battery do not have a built in battery gauge like the originals and it is longer than the original ones so they will not fit into my drill case but they fit fine on the drill and charger. The battery stays lock in place in my drill. they lock so good that it is a big harder to remove them but just a bit more of a pull. No complaints so far. I have used each battery over 6 times with out any issues. I purchased one first to see how it turned out, it worked so good that I purchased a second one.

I suppose this may be unbelievable, but its the 100% truth. I had these (bought 2) batteries for a few months. We were using three drills to install some metal roofing The Skil was used to drill pilot holes, the metabo to install 1/4 inch screws and the Porter Cable to do 3/8 inch stitch screws. It started raining so we had to climb down. We put the three cordless drills in a 5 gallon bucket and stored it under the roofing we had just installed. The next morning, I was dismayed to see the bucket full of water and the tools submerged. The rain and wind were pretty strong and blew under the roofing. Needless to say I doubted if they would ever work again. I put them in the strong sunlight for a day and a half and then plugged the skil battery into my very old charger and it started charging the battery. When the charger indicated the battery was fully charged, I plugged it in to the drill and it WORKED! There was no difference between the submerged battery and the one that stayed dry in my tool box as far as performance and durability of use. SO, I have to say that I would buy another two of these as I picked up a whole ancient set of Skil cordless tools on Craig's list under free stuff. They are practically in new condition, always stored in the original really large bag, but the owner bought a more modern set of lighter tools. They really look new and with my batteries (submerged one too) they have a new life. I highly recommend these batteries. Probably better than the originals.
