DEWALT 60V FLEXVOLT 20" Brushless Chainsaw - Bare Tool (DCCS677B)

I read plenty of reviews on the Dewalt line of chainsaw, but I settled on this one for the price and motor size. As far as the chainsaw itself powerful, cuts great, feels like a gas powered saw Thoughts from unboxing to use. 1. case is great, but handle pulled out when I picked it up off center Could have been made without plastic 2. Disappointed no chain saw oil with tool only. Had to go to store before use. 3. Chain tensioner could be labeled for the direct to tighten/loosen. After a few cuts, had to adjust the chain as it was loose. 4. Cut through 16" hickey logs like butter. 5. Felt like 15 mins of fun on a 60v 12.0. Had to continue with my 60 9.0. 6. Most users complain about bar oil leaks, it would be nice if the box allowed it cap to sit upwards instead of sideways in the box. Overall, great choice but you will need more than one battery for continuous operations.

Powerful. Cuts like butter even on a 18 inch log. Chain very sharp.

I'm a DeWalt guy through and through and had been eyeing this chainsaw for a while. Even though I believe DeWalt puts out quality products I was skeptical at the CC comparison claims but having used this saw many times I can tell you battery power has finally surpassed the power of gas imo. Pros - the saw is lightweight, powerful, quiet. It saws through the hardest of woods with ease. Cons - the saw has a tendency to overheat the batteries. I'm using a flexvolt 12ah and while that provides enough juice to take down a good size tree the bigger issue is with the batteries overheating if you're using the saw continuously. The only other issue I have is the lack of available replacement chains as it appears DeWalt has dropped the ball on supplying 20-in chains. I believe Oregon makes a replacement chain but they're difficult to find. Overall the saw is well built, powerful and has fully replaced my Stihl chainsaws. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Well make sure you practice cutting with this chainsaw first , as I was cutting down a 50ft tree that was only 16 inch diameter with new chain,first cut , and it failed me third of the way through a Humboldt style cut .it was a 45 degree cut and the saw suddenly stopped 20 seconds in ..was not impressed , as I bought extra chains for this saw as well large 20/60 volt batteries for it . The seller was professional and patience with me especially when I was very angry that this saw stopped and had to call onto someone else to help with cutting the remainder cut to fell the tree as it is dsngerous to leave a tree partially cut . Suffice to say I returned it . Took three weeks to get delivered and now waiting to get my refund so I can buy a proper gas saw form Stihl or HusqaVarna ..

I was so excited for this expensive saw, but only got 2 days off cutting out of it. It was cutting amazing and fast and the battery life wasn't good. I used a 12ah dewalt flex battery and would only last line 20-30min. It is a bit heavier then normal electric chainsaws. The chain tensioner broke and it started smoking. Very disappointed and it's part my return window because I ordered it over the winter and didn't use it until now.
