Great Hunting Day Pack!
I bought this pack a few weeks ago. It replaced a smaller Fred Bear fanny pack that was over 30 years old. This Allen Excursion Pack is the perfect sized day pack!It is well thought out, designed and well made. I am very impressed with the comfort level while walking, even with all compartments full and 2 water bottles attached. If it lasts anywhere as long as I expect it to, it was a steal for the price.Another fine product by Allen Outdoors. I have several Allen rifle slings that I have bought over the years, all were so much cheaper in price than all other brands, but still just as good in quaility!

Great product
Quiet pack. Quality product for those of us who do still and spot/stalk hunting deer with a bow, Works a lot better and quieter than trying to wrestle through brush with a daypack. Plenty of storage for a rattle bag, calls, small bottles of scent/ scent control sprays, a phone, keys (there's a clip inside one of the main pockets which I assume is for your key ring) and whatnot. Two main zipper pockets on the main pack and 2 smaller zipper storage pockets (1 on each side). The water bottle nets (1 on each side) will only hold micro bottles of water. By no means a deal-breaker. Foam-lined waistband and good thick quiet buckle. I really wish Allen Co. would have opted to show more pics of this pack as the one they do show really doesn't much of anything, but I decided to take a chance and it was worth it. I'll have a ton of uses for it. Might buy a second one for carrying all my muzzleloader/shotgun gear and maybe turkey if I don't feel like throwing the vest on (2nd pack only for scent control for when I go back to bow season). So far, so good. I'm sure I'll probably fabricate something to strap a decent length coil of rope to it for hanging a deer to skin and quarter if I need to do it in the woods but, trust me, if you still hunt or just want something to not break your back stalking timber all day humping a pack, this is your dog.

Nice size fanny pack
Nice size fanny pack, my only complaint is it smells like baby powder. I didn't want to wash it so i stuck a bunch of green pine straw in each compartment and zipped it up and hung outside for 3 days. Guess what its in the washing machine right now because when I opened up the pack it smelled like pine scented baby powder.

Extremely high quality
I spent a lot of time looking around for one of these tactical style packs made of high quality materials. It is surprisingly tough to find. Allen Co has always been good construction. My only negative for this was I did not love the color scheme options, but I would not downrate it due to that. That is simply subjective preference. The product itself is excellent.

Just the right size for a day in the field. No Bells and whistles just a solid pack with enough room for lunch and snacks. A small knife GPS. Etc. Small elastic sides for drink so smaller size bottle otherwise it has a tendency to fall out if you tilt your pack. Inside is yellow so easy to find items with two small compartments for small items. If you like to put miles underneath your feet without being weighed down this pack is for you.

Not As Quiet As I Thought It Would Be
I plan on using this for deer and elk hunting in the place of a pack. I used one of my dad's last year by throwing over my shoulder and carrying it like a satchel. The water bottle holders are useless to me as I carry a large bottle, but I knew that before I bought it. It seems to be large enough for my stuff, but only time will tell. My only gripe with it, is the fact that one of the main selling points on the product description is that it's made of quiet material, "Quiet, 240g brushed tricot fabric in Realtree Xtra Camo." Sure, all the camo parts ARE quiet, but the fabric above it is not. Specifically, the light colored parts on top of all three of the main pockets, and the small squares on the sides of the front pocket. It seems to be the same noisy, plastic nylon that backpacks are made of. I think I will take a spare one with me just in case this one turns out to be too noisy. On the plus side, it has a carry handle on top and the main compartment opens up nicely, with four sewn-in mess pockets and one large nylon pocket. The smaller, front pocket also has a zippered mess pocket.

Nice pack. It is small but fits perfect under a hunting vest. Lots of room though. I don't like how small and hard to use the water bottle holders are. I used 16.9oz plastic bottle (the ones from the store) and it was hard to get them back in. I'll try to find a better hard plastic bottle for this.

Perfect For Me
My other waist pack my dad gave me when I was just starting out hunting as a child was stolen this past year off my stand, so I wanted to get one as close to that as possible. This is the best I could find. It is very similar and works perfect for me. Plenty of room for ammo, gloves, masks, rangefinder, release, etc.
