Touch the book and you’re part of the experiment. Finish it and you’ll never think in words the same way again. Some will let this book become a knife in the ribs. Some will glance right past it. A few will miss the point entirely — revealing more than they meant to. Hughes built a career decoding the human mind—designing systems that could read, influence, and rewire anyone. Then he turned the weapon inward . TONGUE : A Cognitive Hazard is the fallout from that decision. An experiment disguised as a paperback. A linguistic device engineered to short-circuit the reader’s dependence on language itself. Each page corrupts the circuitry of meaning, twisting familiar thoughts until they look back at you with new eyes. The text replicates. It feeds on your attention, rewriting perception, dismantling certainty, and leaving the clean bones of awareness where comprehension used to be. TONGUE unfolds like surgery performed without anesthesia—no healing, just revelation. For years, Hughes built architectures of control. Now he’s dismantling the machine from the inside. He built a mind-virus to hijack you out of an infection you never knew you had. And if you’re still reading, the download has already begun. ⚠️ Final Warning Go ahead. Touch it . Everyone does. You’ll tell yourself it’s just paper, that a book can’t do anything to you. Nobody ever plans to feel their thoughts changing temperature. Nobody expects a sentence to stare back. Keep reading and the words start rearranging furniture in your head—quietly, politely, like they live there. You’ll catch yourself pausing between thoughts longer than usual. The static clearing. Most people laugh it off. Some don’t sleep the same for a while. A few stop needing to explain things at all. It’s not dangerous. Not really. Unless you finish it. Review: Tongue - a realistic look at your inner reality - My book 'Tongue' came in the usual cardboard packaging that puts desertcart ahead of other couriers out there. The book was in pristine condition without any unwanted folds or door ears. My delivery was through my letterbox ahead of desertcart's predicted time, tantamount to desertcart's ambitious outlook towards their loyal customer base, and an acknowledgement of thier superiority in logistical planning, this delivery arrived at the height of the December Christmas rush. 'Tongue, A Cognitive Hazzard', by Chase Hughes give the reader an insight into words and language and their impact on our inner voice, and that voices impact on our reality. Great book, great read, great service. Thanks G Quinn Review: Great book - Chase Hughes is just great 👍

Do not bother, spend your money anywhere else.
I have read many, many books in my time and this has to be one of the worst. I don't know if the author acheived their objectives, because they were never clear. What was clear was that this is just keyboard masturbation, with the author happily typing away pleased about how clever they think they are being. I have never read any of Chase Hughes's work before and I certainly won't be again. If you are looking for a new way to waste your time and money, give it a go, otherwise do something else, anything else would be an improvement from wasting time on this book.

Mind Cracking
This book is like water poured into the tiny cracks in my mind - it has a visceral effect of instantly seeing how the words used to point to objects (to separate the one into many) are not in any way a representation or substitute for the reality; the words hover, suspended in space as if sitting in a side-cart rather than being scattered over the windshield of perception. This book is one glimpse into that nakedness, and sits alongside what many great wonderers have existed in and pointed to with language for eons up until now. This is why they call a spoken truth a 'pointer' - because this is what all words/symbols can ever truly be. A great read for those who may not be inclined to reach for the typical 'spiritual' section of the book shelf.

The printing isn't accurate fit
I give the book and the author Chase Hughes 5 stars.. fantastic book, very effective! The only complaint I have is that the copy ordered from Amazon isn't printed accurately. The authors name is cut off at the edge of book and some images within the pages are printed into the middle of pages... very annoying as books are my collections and I want them in good condition.

Not what I expected or advertised
I was excited about reading this experiment. Maybe I am not ready yet. But I didn't find any logical reason to continue the process of reading.

Watch the YouTube video first
This is an amazing book when you understand the purpose and premise of it. In order to do that you likely need to watch Chase Hughes YouTube video: Language has a VERY DARK secret (I’ll Prove it) I think if I had purchased this book because I was exposed to his other content, I might find this nonsensical and strange. If you watch the video you will start the book open to the process… I delight in this whole experiment. I have sent the video to some friends and will also send them the book.

No.1 Book to read on the verge of 2026 | It is LIFE
I looked through the first 15 pages, but I was already tearing up seeing page 10. Thta made me quickly realize and feel what this book does. I will forever hold this book by my side, cherish it always, and read it many times in the years and decades to come. Because I will need it. Chase, I can't express just how much you help humanity right now. Not that you don't know. If anyone is reading these lines.. Read this book as soon as you can. In my opinion it will save LIFE itself. Chase! You have some brains and balls to do something like this and call it a book. I will follow your footsteps. 🙏🙂 You just broke reality. I have incredible amounts of gratitude for you. Thank you.

Does what it is meant to do...
I hated this book... Its difficult to understand and written in a way that you have to go back and re read it multiple times just to almost make sense pretty much every section of it... but it probably couldn't have been done any other way. I would go so far as to say it successfully installs a gap between having an experience, and labeling that experience which then also frames said labeled experience on an unconscious level so as to prevent further analysis or deeper exploration of said experience. It installs kind of a buffer. Kind of like how if you hand one person five bucks they'd be like "oh thank you" and you hand another five bucks and they'd be like "what you think im poor!?" when its best to explore the experience more fully without coming to any snap (and probably for a large part automatic and unconscious) decisions about what exactly is going on and why. Or maybe it helps recover something that animals still have but we've mostly lost through social conditioning. Either way, rather than go on about it for a few more pages I'll just say its a good book, even though it gave me a headache multiple times and took me over a month to read, because I had to put it down and seriously think about what I just read... because my automatic conscious programming wasn't equipped to quickly process most of it. So don't expect an easy read, and dont expect to have a magical wonderful time. I didn't. But then again I also hate exercising and still do it because I know how beneficial it can be. And this book can be that too. If you're looking for something similar try reading "Secrets of power" by Ingo Swann. Specially the sections on "reality boxes". Or just play on your phone and think with your feelings. Life is full of important decisions.
