These look just like photos of boots my son showed me that he wants for a cosplay character he plans to be for Halloween. I ordered them a size larger than what he currently wears, so they’d be the correct size in October. I do think they are true to size, becuase they are just a little too big to wear without sliding in, even with thick socks. My son really likes them and would like to be able to walk around in them and “test” them out. Im going to look for some thick insoles. I do think testing them before October is important. I am concerned that he needs some time walking around in big heavy platforms. He is used to wearing crocs, and what I call ninja shoes, little black sleek slipper type shoes. These boots will be a big improvement. I read another review stating the boots had an off-gassing smell. We didn’t have that experience, and I have one of the most sensitive noses on a human. I have purchased things before that both off gasses and smelled of mold that I had to throw out immediately. This pair of boots was scent neutral. While they aren’t leather they look like it and even feel leather like from the outside. I examined the stitching inside and out, and the seem very durable, so If my son gets the hang of walking in platform boots. He can wear these beyond Halloween. My biggest concern is the weight, i don’t have another platform boot in the same size to compare them to, but the do feel heavy, and even once they fit, I’m not sure that he will be able to comfortable be able to wear them. At the time I selected them they were just under $forty dollar's and I think a good value.

These are the biggest letdown of any recent orders of mine. The style looked great and I was eager to see if they would look as great in person. While they do look pretty much identical to the photos in the listing, the quality is not there. The biggest issue here is the materials used. They produce an awful smell. I could not keep them in my house, they were so bad. I am going to assume that the smell goes away eventually but I’m not going to hang on to them long enough to find out. It’s some awful plastic/chemical scent that is extremely overpowering. Otherwise, the style matches the photos, the sizing is true, and they are comfortable on. I still cannot recommend these though, especially not at the price.

I like the modern zipper front Chelsea style, comfort, quality, and durability of the mega thick, slip resistant outsoles. These are practical boots to wear in wet or snowy weather, because the outer material effectively repels moisture and keeps my feet warm. I like the cool, "Retro 90's" style and the comfort level. I wore the boots for several hours on the first day with no blisters or sore feet. I'm an average height guy (5'9" tall), so I like how these boots provide an extra 2" of height. It allows me to see people better in a crowded lounge or concert venue. I'm very happy with these boots, and I think they're a very good value for the money. Highly recommended!
