Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

Love this hair product! It really adds volume to my hair which has always been on the finer side and it smells great! It makes styling my hair so easy. I've bought it twice already and kicking myself for not buying the larger can. It's a little pricey but not any more than the other high end name brands and definitely worth the price.

I really love this texturizing spray. First of all, the scent is amazing — it smells like a nice, interesting perfume, not like a typical hair product. You only need a small amount, and the difference is noticeable right away. I usually use it when my hair is straightened and looks too smooth. This spray adds that little bit of edge — texture, movement, and a relaxed, slightly messy look with character. I apply it a little away from the roots (not directly on them) and slightly on the length, but never on the ends. It creates a light rough texture, and that’s exactly what helps the hairstyle hold. Smooth hair doesn’t hold anything — but once you have this texture, you can shape your hair with your fingers and it stays that way. It’s not a hairspray that freezes everything. The hair stays alive and flexible, but you can still feel the product working. Even on the second or third day, I can just scrunch my hair a bit and restyle it easily — it still holds, even when it’s probably time to wash my hair. I have the small size (2.1 oz / 61 g), and it lasts forever. I’ve been using it for months, and it feels like I’ve only used half of it. Super compact and cute — easy to throw into a bag, car, or take while traveling. It works great on both long and short hair. A friend of mine uses the same product for men’s styling, and it works perfectly too. Overall, great scent, great texture, and very versatile. Definitely staying with me for a long time.

My chin-length hair is usually so soft after washing and blow-drying that it becomes impossible to style — great for long hair, not so great for short. This texturizing spray has been a game-changer. It adds just enough grip to give my hair shape and hold, making it easy to style with only a round brush. The texture is subtle, never crunchy, sticky, or oily, and it keeps my hair looking naturally healthy. Be aware that the spray comes out with a strong, forceful mist, so it’s not meant to lock hair in place like traditional hairspray. Instead, it creates that perfect, touchable finish that makes styling effortless without weighing anything down. My hair keeps its shine and movement with no extra products needed.

Well, the spray is a bit aggressive! Really blasts! I have straight short, fine, but moderately thick unprocessed hair. When I use this, it provides very little lift for me. What's more, it makes my hair look dirty faster. That may be because it's virgin hair, and already has natural shine. There seems to be some type of light "dry oil". Probably great for "distressed ends" of longer hair to smooth them. I think they maybe shouldn't be specifically targeting their marketing to fine hair, and possibly not for short hair. I need lift at the roots, so I have to hold it pretty close to my head. It is impossible to get just a light spray due to the high pressured blast it shoots out. I even tried spraying my fingertips and applying to roots while scrunching/tousling hair, but that only made a slight difference. I imagine it works great on longer wavy, curly or styled hair but for the steep price, I regret buying it for myself. Having sprayed my fingertips, I can confirm that it us not at all sticky. It has a pleasant, light, barely-there fragrance, and I have a very sensitive sniffer, so!

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, 8.5 oz This stuff is fantastic!! In all of my decades, buying a hair spray product, I have never had one this good!! I have slept 2 nights with it on my hair which retains fullness without any tackiness or gumminess, feeling my hair, the product cannot be detected! I am beyond amazed! I think you will be too. 8/20 I haven't yet washed my hair, it looks like done yesterday and that I just used the spray this morning!! I am astounded, actually a product that not only does what it says, but goes several steps beyond. I had planned on putting in a perm, decided to try this first! WOW~ Please TRY this, please try THIS product. I do not exaggerate, I am very critical of any product. I have arthritis in one shoulder and in the other hand, so I am very grateful that I do not have to put in the perm I bought first!! I will never again be without THIS product. No smell, no stickiness, no flakes!!! THANK YOU, Oribe!!

I received a defective product, but there is some info in this review that some might find helpful. I bought the large can of Oribe Dry Texturizing Hairspray as a gift for a friend. She only got to use it twice. The first time she tried it, she said it seemed to work similar to another (way more affordable) dry texturing spray. She said she used a small amount of the spray because she knew it was very expensive and was worried about being wasteful. She was not very impressed by the results. She said she expected way better results based on all the amazing reviews and online recommendations she read while searching for a hairstyling product that was supposed to offer volume, fuller-looking hair, very light hold/grip, overall natural movement, and great oil-control properties... and because the spray was so expensive. My friend wondered if maybe she had been too frugal and should have used a bit more of the product in her hair to get better results. Here's why I gave a 1 star rating: My friend called me a couple days later on face time, freaking out, because the can would not stop spraying the second time she tried to use it. She aimed the hairspray into her sink while she tried to "fix" the nozzle button, but there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it. It was frustrating to see because I felt like I was watching my money go down the drain. Eventually, she said the smell (a combo of the chemicals in the spray and the scent building up) was becoming too strong. She rushed the can outside, put it in her trash can, and closed the lid. She had to air her home out because she said the fragrance was so overpowering and she was worried about her baby breathing in fumes. My friend went back to her trash can after maybe 2-3 minutes to make sure the hairspray didn't explode or anything crazy. It had stopped spraying, but was still slowly leaking contents from the nozzle hole & around the button. My friend set the hairspray can on the ground. After several minutes, she checked it and said it seemed to have stopped leaking completely, but the can was very messy and a lot of the product had been wasted. We inspected the nozzle (I could only see what she showed me on the phone) and nothing seemed to be wrong with it to have caused it to go off the way it did - it wasn't stuck in a depressed position or anything. In fact, at that point, it almost seemed a tiny bit lifted from it's normal position. My friend was too afraid to mess with the can to try to figure out what went wrong. She didn't want to risk setting it off again and was afraid it might explode. She assumed there might have been some kind of internal pressure build up that caused it to go off in the first place. (She had stored it properly, in a cabinet with all her other haircare products... so she really wasn't sure what was wrong with the can.) My friend felt really bad that I spent a lot of money on a gift she barely got to try. I WAS VERY UPSET. I would never spend so much on a can of hairspray for myself. I knew my friend had been wanting to try this particular one for a long time, but couldn't bring herself to splurge her money on something extremely pricey that she might not even like. So, I decided to surprise her with this hairspray as a "new mom self-care" gift. (She recently had her first child & was recovering from some post-partum hormonal hair thinning, which I knew had been bothering her.) Even worse, my friend had to clean all the hairspray residue off her bathroom walls, sink, & fixtures. She said some parts were thick & tacky, while others seemed oily/slick. She was left with some permanent spray/drip marks on one of her walls, which continues to smell like the hairspray. (The spray went off 2 days ago.) My friend said the parts of her hair she had been spraying (before she realized the can would not stop) felt thick & gunky - not very lightweight at all. I couldn't see much difference in the way her hair looked while we were face-timing. We're not sure if this would have been the actual results of her hair if the spray can had operated normally. Maybe the contents were gradually clogging up inside or something, and the can had started spraying the ingedients unevenly. We really don't know. But that's the impression we were left with... the hairspray left her fine, thin, shoulder-length hair feeling weighed down & "dirty." (She had used the hairspray normally, per the product instructions, and quickly turned the can away from her when she realized it wouldn't stop spraying. So, her hair didn't get overly sprayed by accident during the malfunction.) I have no clue what was wrong with the can of hairspray I ordered. I didn't get to see it in person before it was permanently disposed of. I did check it out before I put it in the gift bag I made. It came in a very nice, fancy looking box. The can, itself, looked in tact and like a professional product. There were no signs that the product was damaged, pre-used & returned, or tampered with in any way. It appeared brand new & perfectly fine. I have to say this is an over-priced product for the quality and the feedback I got from my friend. The product looks & packaging were superb. Scent was nice - nothing to really rave about, but definitely better than most other hairstyling products (IMO). Quality was very poor. Product results were limited, but sounded disappointing. Definitely not worth the additional cost of potentially repainting the bathroom wall or forfeiting part of a rent deposit if my friend can't remove the stains the spray left behind. I wouldn't recommend the product. If you do want to purchase it, I would caution you to do so at your own risk. Oh, I was able to kind of smell the hairspray scent when I went to my friend's house today. I will say, I didn't think it was bad. From what my friend told me, it came out strong the first time she used the hairspray, but the scent dissipated after a short time. (She was worried it would remain off-puttingly strong, but it quickly phased down to where her husband could only notice it when he got very close to her hair.) We both thought it was kind of a nice scent, given that it wasn't really what someone would consider feminine or masculine; and it wasn't really fruity, floral, or "overly sweet" smelling like a lot of hair products tend to smell. The hairspray left something like a gender-neutral cologne type of fragrance.

I know this stuff is expensive ... but let me tell you - this is my absolute go to. My hair is fine, and I do have a decent amount of it - even for a 50+ girl, but this spray makes it look like you have 2x as much hair. It also works better than any dry shampoo I have ever used as a brown haired girl. I use it when I need it - 1st day and maybe 3rd if I can't get my hair wash in. It also helps with static. I don't go anywhere without it. Just don't make the mistake I did and pack the full size one in your carry on. Someone at TSA confiscated my full-size brand NEW can at the BEGINNING of my trip, and I almost had a nervous breakdown. Get the travel size too!

So I have naturally very flat hair, which is frustrating because my hair is thick and course making it hard to get lasting volume regardless of how much back combing or product I use. I thought I had tried everything until I randomly saw texturizing spray at ulta and started doing research. I ultimately settled on this spray, but ordered the smaller size because it is pricey and I wasn’t super confident it was worth the investment. Let me tell you what, I am mind blown with how good this texturizing spray works. It is not sticky and doesn’t make your hair stiff, but by some magic gives tons of added volume! The best part is that it lasts ALL DAY!!! I will say I am not a huge fan of the smell, but it’s light and doesn’t last so it’s not going to stop me from reordering! The only down side is that does shorten the time you can go between washes, but it is well worth the added volume in my book. If you are on the fence because this is not a returnable product (like I was), take the plunge! This is a game changer for all you flat hair girlies like me!

This stuff is expensive however it’s a great hair product and one my wife loves. There’ll be no issues with quality you just have to get it at the right price

I have fine hair that won’t hold it’s style or curls. This is the only spray I’ve ever found that totally works and lasts all day. Because it’s dry it’s not sticky. It adds volume and keeps the curl and shape. Seems expensive but when I considered how many cans of hairspray I’ve tossed out it’s more than worth it. This is my 3rd purchase. Very slight scent that disappears quickly so doesn’t interfere with perfume.
