Review: Mathematical Understanding: A book for the rest of us - If you are mathematically gifted, and particularly if you are not, this volume will take you beyond the basics into a new level of understanding of and appreciation for mathematical problem solving techniques that emphasizes understanding rather than just computational methods. It emphasizes understanding and is written in highly accessible style by two eminently accomplished mathematicians who are also excellent teachers. The material is very accessible. Highly recommended. Review: Great to have for competition math - The Book is great resource for AMC 10/AMC12/AIME level math competitions. The book not only concentrates on competition problems but also presents the approach to the problems with some proofs on the subject. I will recommend Solutions Manual with this book.
